MERRY CHRISTMAS! On this special day I have a special gift to offer my fellow techno brothers and sisters. My boy Ari El who I have had the pleasure of knowing for several years has completed Part 3 of the closing sets for my NYC Nites podcast. Ari El instantly caught my ear when I heard one of his mixes a long time back. I could hear his talent instantly and we started chatting about music and DJing. Ever since I’ve listened to all of his tracks and mixes and enjoyed his unique style. He is a true veteran of the NYC underground and showcases that experience effortlessly every time he is on the decks. So let’s give it up for Ari El!

Prolific producer, eminent deejay and Queens' own Ari El—long on the rise in the worlds of Techno & Tech House—has carved out his own path to Techno Master status. Ari El's diverse background as a lyricist, vocalist, & pianist combined with his avid devotion to New York City's electronic music scene, created for him a foundation in bedrock, borne of the golden age of house music in New York. Ari El was a regular on the dance floor for legends, landmarks, & pioneers such as Junior Vasquez, Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderone & Danny Tenaglia, whom he credits as having had a profound impact on his career. Ari El has come full circle, receiving critical praise from Danny himself, with whom he has spun along side (Opera, Atlanta). Ari El has had the honor of performing with many industry titans & luminaries; including Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, Saeed Younan, Cevin Fisher, Satoshi Tomiie, Richie Santana & Peter Bailey, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, D-Unity, DJ Pierre, & Gaiser. Ari El relocated to Atlanta, where he created Odyssey, a long running and successful after hours party which has been the Friday night & Saturday morning and Saturday night & Sunday morning spot for Atlanta’s most discerning Techno enthusiasts. In addition to performing at Odyssey, Ari El has co-managed the party for 5 years, and still holds a monthly residency. Ari El has performed at major venues such as Output (New York) Heart (Miami) Club Space (Miami) Trade (Miami) WildPitch, (Atlanta) Avalon (LA), System (NY), Treehouse (Miami) and is a regular at the Winter Music Conference. His recent label affiliations include Afro Acid, Bush Records, Unity Records most recently appearing on “Unity Vol. 11 Compilation”, released in September 2015, on which Ari El was fortunate to be included among the likes of Ant Brooks, D-Unity, & Phunk Investigation. Be on the look out for his new EP in 2017 on Victor Calderone & Mike Frade's Wafeform Recordings. Ari El plans on maintaining his non stop schedule and continuing to connect with audiences to create that signature vibe at a multitude of venues, and with new releases, as well as those original secret weapons that leave rooms trembling and have set him apart from most of his fellow performers. Most recently Ari El has teamed up with Adrian Hoda (CEO of H.O.T Entertainment Group). Ari El feels that with his musical ability, as well as being under management of one of the fastest growing promoters/ event planners in the NY area, that only the sky is the limit.

NYC Nites: The Closing Part 3 by ARI EL

After 6 long years, 20+ episodes, thousands of plays and downloads, my NYC Nites podcast series has officially reached THE END. I really enjoyed sharing this podcast with everyone over the years. It gave me the ability to showcase my favorite aspects of the NYC underground house & techno scene. My NYC Nites podcast series led to a monthly residency in the same name at the club formerly known as Current. It was here that many new friendships were forged. Music truly does bring people together. Looking back, my taste in music has always been very diverse. In 2017, I want to bring that diversity and range to the table with the new podcast series that I am planning to create. Until then, please enjoy my last and final NYC Nites podcast mixed by yours truly, the one like Cutta. #NYCNITESOUT #NOSOFTBEATS

This set was recorded on my first trip to South Africa, where I performed at a festival and a free show in Soweto alongside local artists Vinny da Vinci , Dj Fresh, Euphonik, Culoe de Song and LSG. All tour dates were partnered with non-profit organisation Bridges for Music. The aim was to use music to break down socio-economic boundaries bringing people from different communities together . 'DE9 Fragments' is a series of fragmented audio edits based upon my live DJ set recordings. Each one will attempt to capture the feeling and direction of the night, giving those who were there a reminder of the events they experienced while giving those who were not present a fragmented distortion of what they missed.

Michael Sullivan is an electronic DJ who has a passion for the New York dance scene. Residing in NY, he has been surrounded by many different types of music his entire life. At the age of 17, he found himself drawn to the unique sounds of house and techno that dominated NYC nightlife. Years later, through trial and error, Michael learned his way around the tables and made a name for himself as a burgeoning DJ in the local scene.

Michael Sullivan's sets consist of a variety of genres such as tribal, techno, and tech-house, mixed with off the cuff acapellas and edits that make the crowd want to hit the dancefloor. Growing up in the golden era of NYC afterhours, Michael looked upon many influences including Danny Tenaglia, Boris, Victor Calderone, Joseph Capriati, Adam Beyer and Nicole Moudaber just to name a few. 

Michael Sullivan's early DJ career started when he made his fateful debut at one of NYC's most legendary underground clubs, Pacha NYC. A music venue for those who knew, not only in New York, but across the globe. Michael has no hesitation on expanding his following and rocking the dance floor with his positive vibe and unmistakable NYC flare.
