An intense period of hibernation and creative growth has dawned Sumner's stunning new single 'Stranded', co-written and produced by Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes (PNAU, Empire of the Sun).

‘Stranded’’ is the first of a string of singles co-written and produced by PNAU, as Sumner become the newest signing to Lab78, the label started by Littlemore and Mayes, in partnership with Australian indie label etcetc.

Following on from their breakthrough single and debut release on Lab78, ‘Stranded’, electronic duo Sumner (Chloe Wilson & Jack McLaine) are back with their striking new single 'South', an ode to their home state of Tasmania. 

Co-written and produced with Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes (PNAU, Empire of the Sun), ‘South’ was written on the same day as ‘Stranded’ and is a continuation of the themes of introspection and recognition of their past selves.

With ‘Solid Gold’, PNAU set out to capture the hypnotic, everlasting rhythm of old disco records. The song was inspired equal parts by Nick Littlemore’s explorations into world music and the sun drenched energy of Australia, incorporating live instrumentation to create a richer, fuller sound. It’s a banger built to soundtrack good times but, Littlemore says, it’s also about “the love of a best friend and being able to depend on people”.
