Zion 604 records proudly presents our 12th physical release - "Acid disco // Compiled by the square". In this compilation, we present the fines of the Israeli trance scene of our days. All tracks shares the same concept of phat square baseline, together with some acid resonances... 

The idea behind that project relies on the same sources of the British Old school Of the 90's. Sound simple yet sophisticated, comfortable and fat synthesis in an impressive manner. 

Square wave motion of the particles is a quadratic power, combined with a constant pulse. Combined pulse wave movement creates a super fat bass dimension, identified with trance music specifically and electronic music in general speaking 

incarnation of the machine TB 303 on its variants, has created a very strong correlation with trance music. The unique resonances sound of the instrument was nicknamed acid, which later became an integral part of the language in the trance scene . For us, this square wave is pure acid. Disco acid.

Timewarp presents a new release from InnerZone called The Inner Zone EP, we hope you enjoy the ride! Rei Albahari has been producing music since 2005 under the name "MadDoc". He has started his way around electronic music while co-producing & editing the Israeli radio show "BeatNik" (Brodcast on "Galey Tzahal" 2004-2006). After the show stopped Rei began to produce small parties & DJ sets around Israel, in 2008 forming the production "Ha'HaZit Ha'Amamit La'Trance", taking on promoting the GOA TRANCE & the Retro trend. "MadDoc" shows & DJ seta have been well known because of his unique sound and track selecting. Rei started producing music as InnerZone in 2011 and got his 1st release Analog Sunrise. Since then Rei released two E.P's and several tracks on compilations, remixed & collaborated with artist such as Astral Projection, Power Source, Radical Distortion, The Muses Rapt , Nervasystem and more. 8. Spanish Gypsy

Until quite recently I lived the Sierra Guadarrama mountains in Spain for several years where I was exposed to a lot of excellent Flamenco music, which is the music of the Gypsies or Romani. 

Being a guitarist myself I couldn't help but get sucked into figuring out how to play this style on guitar. While I was learning, I was struck by the similarity between Flamenco and North African and Indian music and when I analysed it, I found that they share certain musical scales. (interestingly the Romani were originally a nomadic tribe from northen India that travelled to Europe in the12th century) 

Another musical conjunction was the similarity (to me) between the harmony and rhythm of the opening bars of that quintessentially Spanish dance the Pasa Doble and a lot of Trance built on a gallop rhythm. 

So the original inspirational spark began with the possibility of combining all these musical threads into one piece of music. So, I started by creating the melody on a Flamenco scale, over the rhythm of the Pasa Doble with it's semi-tone harmonic movement and mixed that with certain elements of the older Indian influenced Goa-trance sound, but built it all on a foundation of the big kick and bass from the more modern Psytrance sound. 

Later I dusted off the (steel strung) acoustic and recorded some melodic guitar parts using some newly learned Flamenco licks to emphasis the Gitano flavour. 

The track you hear is the result of this weird musical synthesis of Goa, Psy trance, Flamenco and the Pasa Doble.
