Let's meet our dj for episode 456, Jesta:
43 year old Junglist Dad from Toronto. Jesta was going to raves in Toronto in 94' and got into production 2 years later in 96'. He had releases on Trouble On Vinyl and a few other smaller labels in late 90's. Jesta took a 15 year hiatus and re-emerged in 2015 with one of his best friends, Gremlinz. Since  coming back to the scene, he's had releases on Metalheadz, Rupture, Amar, Paradox Music and many more! 

He and Gremlinz have recent remixes for Goldie and forthcoming remixes on the Photek album that will be coming soon on Metalheadz. plus, he and Gremlinz have an album coming out on Metalheadz!  Lastly, Jesta recently started a label with Gremlinz and DJ Lush called,  Lee Garden Historical Preservation Society. Be on the lookout for the first release coming very soon!

Jungle Mix 08.2022

Thanks to Sun And Bass to give me the opportunity to showcase my Parallax label and thanks to everybody that attended my set on the 13th September at Ambra Day and showed me love. If you love all styles Drum&Bass and Jungle and haven´t been to Sun And Bass I strongly advise you go there, there´s simply no better place on earth to celebrate our culture and feel connected to like-minded people. Personally, that´s what I rate most: The special situation to really be a part of this thing, physically there, for an entire week living the life. In 'real life', you just don´t have the chance to live that lifestyle 24/7. For me, it´s impossible to connect with people outside these given few hours in a club environment or live the 'Junglist lifestyle' outside my music room aka the man-cave, where I´m working on music, mixes or releases and speak to people on the phone or in front of a screen. But to really interact with other people - that share that same insane love for this music -directly, for a whole week, that´s what makes it special. San Teodoro - that´s the place where you see legends of the scene dead-nervous with shaky hands when dropping their first tune because that´s the place where everyone on the floor is as much 'in the know' and knowledgable as you are and contribute to keeping this thing alive in one way or the other. It´s all vibes, a special time in a special place that we call paradise. Maximum respect Sun And Bass for all the memories, may it continue for years to come!

The recording here contains a lot of music forthcoming on the Parallax label in 2022 & 2023. 2022 has been our busiest year with 5 new releases and there´s a lot more lined up for the next year, so keep your eyes on us!

I was honoured to be asked by Mantra and Double O to warm up room  1 at Rupture's 16th birthday last month on 19th November, alongside a full line up of some of the best DJ's, MC's and producers in the scene!
It was daunting, to say the least, but I did it and, after a wave of pure anxiety I came off the turntables smiling and proud that I had done a pretty good job! :D
 
It's a little late, but, for those that missed it or couldn't make it, here is my 93/94 all vinyl vibe promo mix that I recorded at home a month before the gig..needless to say I was shitting my pants; of course, I changed a few tunes along the way running up to the gig!
Music is such a HUGE part of my life, I love it and can't live without it. I am so compassionate about music it that it sometimes consumes me, to the point of intense worry that I feel I should stop mixing..but I have turned a corner after Rupture and I have gained that passion again <3

Foot PrintZ Sessions - 045 - Cash Bailey (Read Description)

Stepping up, stepping in… Charla Green is the latest DJ to join the ranks of the 1 More Mix series and she’s done so packing a full set of her own incendiary productions.

A powerful attack of the senses with Amens, dub sirens and timeless jungle references flying left, right and centre, it’s a high energy experience that taps deep into jungle’s core DNA and covers the Sheffield artist’s discography past, present and future.

Not only is it laced with an enormous wealth of dubs – including forthcoming releases on Hardcore Energy, Off Me Nut Records, All Colours and Function – her mix also navigates us around the earlier chapters of her discography with cuts dating back to some her earliest releases going back to 2018 on the likes of UK Jungle and 2020 on labels such as Boey Audio. Also comprising her more recent slammers with Digital on his Function Records imprint, it’s an immense statement that explicitly portrays where Charla Green is at as a super-skilled, relentlessly prolific and fresh graduate of the EQ50 mentorship at the start of 2023.

Not much needs to be said about Tim Reaper. Over the last decade Tim has been producing some of the finest jungle music about, and has cemented himself as one of the frontrunners of the current jungle revival. With releases on Lobster Theremin, GreenBay Wax, Dalston Chillies and our very own Disrupt Records, as well as a recent remix collaboration with Special Request on SHERELLE's HOOVERSOUND, Tim is showing no signs of slowing down.
