I first got into Drum and Bass after listening to a One Nation tape pack a mate of mine had bought home after coming back from University in the summer of 1998. 
For the next couple of years, every month I'd eagerly await the next One Nation tape pack at my local record store. 
These packs and One Nation hold a special place in my heart and I thought I'd do a mix to reflect that.

Can you remember playing this set at all?
This was one of those nights when everything fell into place. Metalheadz Sessions at Blue Note were always above average but these kind of nights- where every element gelled perfectly. in terms of vibes and living life, these were the ones that people waited for. 

What were your most memorable moments from The Blue Note?
Spotting a famous face you didn't expect to see there was a great thing. It made me feel proud of the elements that made the burgeoning Drum & Bass sound work so well. It was about more than the experimental beats the DJs played. It was also about the phatness of the Eskimo Noise sound system, the freestyle energy the clubbers brought to the dance floor and the MCs who felt free to host in a nontraditional way. The unity of those elements that had not been witnessed before.

Its 2 years ago today we lost our man Duncan Busto aka Spirit. Feels like there's a big black empty hole where he used to be... (And there's a mahussive hole in my DJ sets too!!!) we all miss him! So back in Feb this year we had a cracking night for him @ Village Underground on Sunday 9th Feb 2020 featuring a quality line-up. Massive thanks to each & every DJ & MC who performed on the night, even our crew that couldn’t make it to the show due to the adverse weather & severe storms cancelling flights, trains & causing havoc on the roads…!
