'Esy' was written in March 2015 and it was originally part of my debut EP 'I'.
This new version was recorded between January and April, 2021

Ineni is a soul song inspired by Ancient Egyptian history & mythology.
It is a tale of forbidden love between a commoner and the Queen.

Στο φως του δειλινού
σε αναζητώ,
σε καρτερώ.
Και στις σκιές της νύχτας,
δίνεσαι,
χάνεσαι.
Θα 'θελα να κρυφτώ
μες στα χείλη σου,
σαν άλλοτε.
Κι ας με πάρει ο καιρός
σε ένα άστρο μακρινό.

Πάνω στου Νείλου τα νερά,
περνώ τις μέρες μου αργά.
Το κάθε χρώμα της αυγής,
το τέλος κάποιας εποχής.
Με κόπο, δάκρυ, προσευχές,
στο σώμα αμέτρητες πληγές.
Μα όλα χάθηκαν με μιας
σε δυό μάτια αιθερικά.

Και των Θεών οι προσταγές,
ανθρώπων γίνονται φωνές.
Μεσά στο πλήθος μια μορφή,
απόκρυφη, περαστική.
Κι οι ιερείς σε προσκυνούν,
μέγιστο θαύμα του ουρανού.
Και δύο κόρες στα λευκά
να σου πλέκουν τα μαλλιά.

Και ένα βράδυ βροχερό
μες στο παλάτι σου θα μπω.
Σε πέρα δώματα κρυφά
πλαγιάζει η κόρη του Βορρά.
Με μύρα, άνθη και ευχές,
σε ευλογούνε δυό Θεές.
Κι εγώ στο σκότος σιωπηλά
να περιμένω μια ματιά.

Upon the Nile's waters

in two ethereal eyes.

Among the crowd,
a passing mystical figure.

In faraway hidden chambers,
the daughter of the North is sleeping.

A few words from the artist:

Carousel Waltz is an orchestral piece coming from the creative era that led to the album Ι.

Carousel never made it on that record because of its contrast with the rest of the material that comprise Ι.

There are many compositions from the Ι era that did not make it on the record but Carousel differed due to its peculiarity and unique stature. For this reason, I decided to release it as a single.  

This Waltz was composed and arranged on March 2015 but its core came to be on February 2011 in the ghettos of North York, Ontario.

I would love to talk about Carousel's symbolism but I do not wish to mark it permanently with my own interpretation!
