Capital Cities - Safe and Sound (Markus Schulz vs Grube & Hovsepian Remix) is the first release from Markus Schulz since his fifth artist album 'Scream 2' that came out earlier this year on Armada. The trance-led remix battle between trance-legend Markus Schulz and the formidable EDM duo Grube & Hovsepian makes for a huge and significant club anthem of the indie-pop record. ‘Safe and Sound’ comes out on the 22nd April on Capitol Records.

Debuted on New Years Eve at POPNYE and since played out at huge events including A State of Trance, Ultra Music Festival and Transmission, 'Safe and Sound' captivates the crowd like no other. The track resonates itself in a pure cause to celebrate and has even served as the background music to several engagements at Markus’ shows!

Markus launched 2014 with Scream 2, the17-track follow up to the extremely successful album Scream. Since the 2012 release of Scream, Markus’ schedule has been relentless and his return with Scream 2 saw him push boundaries and pour heart and soul into the album that is simply massive. Markus’ performances during Miami’s Winter Music Conference saw him play host to the world’s electronic family as he played a special 10 hour open to close solo set at his home of Club Space and rounded off the week with good friend Ferry Corsten as New World Punx as they performed at Ultra Music Festival.

Talla 2XLC is an expert on reworking trance classics and bring them up to date for the new generation of trance lovers. The original track released on Poison records back in 1998 was co-produced by the legendary Torsten Stenzel who is behind countless trance classics. Hemstock and Mercurial Virus showcase their mastery in uplifting trance with their latest release, "Sekhmet," on ZYX Trance. This track, clocking in at a high-energy 138 BPM, is a textbook example of euphoric trance, seamlessly blending classic elements with rich, cultural motifs.
From a technical standpoint, "Sekhmet" is a production marvel. The track opens with meticulously crafted, tough, and rounded kicks that provide a robust foundation. These kicks are complemented by pulsating basslines, engineered with precision sidechain compression to create that signature pumping effect synonymous with trance. The metallic drums add a sharp, percussive edge, processed with high-pass filters to maintain clarity in the mix.

Reverb settings are carefully adjusted to give these instruments an ethereal, otherworldly presence, enhancing the track's exotic vibe.
As the ethnic melodies gracefully fade, a crescendo of big synths emerges, crafted with lush pads and soaring leads. These synths are layered with harmonic richness, utilizing techniques like unison detuning and stereo widening for a grand, enveloping sound. A massive drum roll, likely achieved with layered snares and filtered white noise, builds tension leading to the emotionally charged climax.
The anthemic finale blends euphoric synths with lingering Middle Eastern motifs, a testament to the duo's ability to bridge cultural soundscapes. "Sekhmet" is not just a track; it's a meticulously crafted sonic journey that connects the past, present, and future, cementing Hemstock and Mercurial Virus's position as pioneers in the trance genre. For Suncatcher, it all started in 2003 with a LEVEL magazine and the demo version of Fruity Loops 3.5. It took 5 years for his first release, the lesser known ‘Solaria’. But then, Above & Beyond played ‘Epic’ 3 times in TATW, and his career received the kickstart it was waiting for. Numerous signings at highly respected labels such as Enhanced, FSOE, Euphonic, AVA or Subculture, just to name a few and remixes for Tiësto, Adam Nickey, John O’Callaghan or Neptune Project have found their way into the playlists of DJ’s such as Armin van Buuren, John O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas, Aly & Fila, Above & Beyond or Paul van Dyk. These releases were naturally followed by gigs in Spain, UK, Holland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Romania, joining big festivals such as BeeFree, Luminosity Beach Festival, Afterhills and, most notably, Untold.

In the recent years, Bogdan started experimenting with collabs and found a new friend and perfect collab buddy in Exolight, with which he has released more than a dozen tracks and started a new project, Sunlight State, tackling the more bass-heavy and bangin’ style. And on the flip side, he continues to expand his horizon, even more, venturing into the progressive area as well.
