The Drowning World - Pure Rain

Next Okbron's 12'' will be presented by Scottish producers KMC & Future Engineers, who collaborated on several tracks in 90s era , two of which will finally be released. If it hadn't been for the preserved DATs, the release would probably never have happened. Artists talk in more detail about working on the tracks:

"At the time of writing these tracks we lived next door to each other. Back then, face to face collaboration was really the only way to work with other artists. This was of course a more hands on process and we were each able to bring our own skills and sound to the table.

1st Magnitude was written with 720 degrees in mind and was initially snapped up by Blame but then circumstances changed and unfortunately the release fell through. KMC wrote the bassline, off the back of his forward thinking bassline in Orbiting Probes. We knew that a driving bassline and deep, atmospheric music would be a winning combination of styles for the scene at the time.

Quasar was written specifically as the B side to 1st Magnitude and the aim was for it be intentionally something a bit diffferent. With the drums deriving from TMA-1 and the bassline injecting some future funk, the track delivered on what it set out to achieve. Although Quasar was not signed by any one at the time and went into the vaults until now.

Both tracks were written around the same time as another collaboration track, “Density” alongside fellow Scottish producer, Scarlet Lake. Density was the opening track of the KMC - Temple Records Mix. Unfortunately the DAT for Density was never kept and will remain unreleased.

Studio gear -
All the tracks were written using Akai Samplers. The drums derived from the Future Engineers track - Fragments that was released on Temple Music. The bass sound in 1st Magnitude was a one shot sample. Most of the musical elements and the bass sound for Quasar came from the JV-1080/2080. The ethereal strings and some effects came from the Korg Trinity.

This period of creativity marked the end of the collaborations between KMC and Future Engineers and KMC stepped away from the music scene to persue other endeavours. Some of those listening to my shows on either Jungletrain or Echobox have likely already heard these two tracks floating about and I’ve been dropping them in pretty much every other set since May. And so now finally  I’m beyond stoked to announce the second release for my non label On My Own Terms/Time (OMOTT)

Two very different tracks, but I’m pretty confident they each have a vibe of their own.

For now this is all I’m sharing and in the weeks to come I will delve a bit deeper into the process of getting this made and out there :)

Nuage emerges with a tantalising collection of 2-step tear-jerkers on his latest album 'Gradient' releasing via Microfunk Music on September 19th.

For over a decade, Nuage has built a reputation as one of electronic music’s most emotive voices, with celebrated releases on Project Mooncircle, Anjunadeep, 20/20 Vision, and Phonica Records, and regular radio support from BBC Radio 1. Following the vibrant Music of Branches (Absys, 2013), the lushly introspective Prints of You (Translation, 2014), and the genre-bending WILD (Project Mooncircle, 2017), Gradient marks a natural next step, refining his signature blend of moody synths, floating melodies, and broken 2-step rhythms into something intimate, ethereal, and timeless.

Each track on Gradient feels like a precious gem, balancing restraint and atmosphere with a subtle pull toward the dancefloor. UKG-inspired grooves set the foundation for much of the record, carrying Nuage’s trademark weightless touch. “Pausepoint” stands out as a highlight, where Nuage teams up with Microfunk Music label head Bop to push the tempo into drum & bass territory, providing a dynamic counterpoint to the album’s meditative flow. The surrounding tracks lean into hazy textures and shimmering percussion that unfold like half-remembered dreams.

Over the years, Nuage has become known for crafting electronic music that feels as personal as it is expansive, soundtracks for both solitary reflection and communal release. Gradient distills that duality, offering a record that is as much about listening as it is about movement, carried by a rare sensitivity to atmosphere and rhythm.

He gets straight to business with "Don't Move" - a powerful big room stepper, that strikes you with a strong sense of imminent doom on a grandest of scales. Massive and commanding lead combined with intricate bass movement and surgical drums edits guarantees that you won't be able to do what the title says.

In case you were wondering what you get when you combine a super talent with even more super talents, this EP is your answer. Radicall lends his signature blend of atmospheric backgrounds, fat basslines, and rolling and crisp beats to serve as an input material to be reshaped by the likes of LM1, Handra, Future Engineers, and Silence Groove; each of them a master of their own trade, and each of them with a different take on the main theme.
