"Directors Cut" is Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper - formed in 2009.

Frankie Knuckles 
American DJ, record producer and remixer, born 18 January 1955 in South Bronx, New York City, New York, USA, died 31 March 2014 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. 

Knuckles was the DJ at the Warehouse nightclub in Chicago from 1977 to 1982. It is widely accepted that his style of DJing and his selection and the appeal of the Warehouse gave house music its name, although in the beginning, the word 'house' was used only in Chicago to denote something which was cool, hip, fresh or bad. Knuckles had been long time friends with Larry Levan, they had had their musical upbringing together from going to clubs like Loft and the Gallery. 

Due to his importance in the development of house, Knuckles was often known as "The Godfather of House Music", and as such the city of Chicago named a stretch of street and a day after Knuckles in 2004. His accomplishments earned him a Grammy Award in 1997. As well, Knuckles was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame for his achievements in 2005.


Eric Kupper got his start two decades ago working as a keyboardist and guitarist for such producer/remixers as David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Arthur Baker, Peter Rauhofer, and Richie Jones to name a few. Since 1986 he has played on, remixed, and/or produced over 1400 records for artists spanning all contemporary musical genres. 

Eric also creates a great deal of music outside of the dance realm, including unashamed pop, heavy rock, punk, folk, indie rock, or whatever floats his musical boat. Artists include John Wesley Harding, Julee Cruise, Coolbone, Drill, PM Dawn, The Butterflies of Love, Saint Etienne, Bonnie Bailey, Robina, Peyton, Gaz Brookfield, McQueen, Ofra Haza, Jaymes Bullet, Laura Pausini, and Gloria Estefan. 

A few years back Eric was bitten (hard!) by the DJ bug as well and became a resident at London's Pacha with Hed Kandi for four years, as well as DJing all around the globe as an independent DJ or as a Hed Kandi resident. Eric is now a resident DJ with Tokyo Disco, a new venture created by Mark Doyle, the former creator of Hed Kandi. With Tokyo Disco he presently enjoys a residency at Neighbourhood in London, Enclave in Chicago as well as numerous spots throughout the U.K. and the world.
