Coming in strong with a superlative disco house pumper, Black Loops & Innocent Soul are here to make the masses move with their debut dual single 'Wanna Feel It' on Classic. Berlin producer Riccardo Paffetti of Black Loops brings in his funk and soul influences, with Italian vinyl junkie Vittorio Rinaldi aka Innocent Soul putting his raw and heavy touch on another collaboration following their projects on Toy Tonics. Adorned with looped guitar riffs and a stomping bassline, the title track hollers a peak-time sound through filtered soul vocals and warped disco vibrancy. 'GHETTO U' holds a more direct house sound, keeping the high energy up through guitar loops and deep bassline drops. There are few records around that can maintain sky-high levels of liveliness, this production is certainly one.

For this ReVision, I chose an iconic song that has had a great influence on me and my artwork throughout my lifetime. Featuring a west coast-style songwriting balladry, their sound was something I immediately connected with from the very first time I heard “Joy And Pain” on the radio as a child.

Often referred to as the “Black Grateful Dead” for their loyal cross-generational fanbase, Maze was formed in San Francisco, California in the late 70s, fronted by the Philly-raised songwriter and former gospel singer, Frankie Beverly.

Originally called Raw Soul, the group changed their name to Maze upon the recommendation of Beverly’s mentor—as well as a major catalyst for their meteoric ascension in popularity—Marvin Gaye.

Featuring conventional instrumentation of this era for an R&B ensemble—Electric Bass, Guitar, and Fender Rhodes, Oberheim OB-X brass—including innovative use of the—then-new—Roland CR-78 CompuRhythm Drum Machine.

For as much as they have written and recorded timeless songs and records, you really have not fully experienced their spiritual mastery until you've seen Maze Feat. Frankie Beverly live in concert.

To close the show out I am delighted to bring you Niklas Mellilä aka Disco Tech Edits. I've been a huge fan of Niklas for years and have been playing his tracks in my sets since I took up dj'ing again.

Born and raised in a small town in Sweden, Niklas aka Disco Tech moved to Stockholm aged 12 and has been collecting records for nearly two decades since. As a DJ he has been lighting up dance-floors in Scandinavia and beyond all the way back to his days as a Scratch Battle DJ at the 2008 DMC World Championships. His focus has turned to laying down original funk and disco, chopping and editing classic and rare tunes, as well as building his increasingly diverse and wonderful record collection. He's gained a reputation as a fine selector and talented DJ
