@sweetfruitybrunch was behind one of the stand out tracks of 2020 in the shape of Disco Spider, which is a must have for any respectable house collection. He's a producer who releases under a variety of pseudonyms and keeps the jazzier dustier end of the spectrum for his Sweet Fruity Brunch moniker, and it's most certainly quality over quantity on the release schedule front.

Here he is back with an absolute beast of an EP on the always quality @momentcinetique. Bringing all the elements that we love from his productions to bear the Street Lights EP is another absolute triumph.

Our premier today from the EP is title track Street Lights and it's everything you could wish from a Sweet Fruity Brunch track, jazzy and funky as hell it's got that timeless house feel which help his tracks stand well out from the bunch.

I Die is the first release from The Natural Curve on the Best’s Friends Music label.

When the track was posted on Soundcloud, as a demo a few years ago, it caught the ear of legendary producer Niles Rodgers who simply tweeted: “That’s an awesome song!”

The tune has been revamped and updated by the Natural Curve, with the addition of guitar, percussion, and a funky-assed bass line.

I Die features the extraordinary vocal talents of the mighty Polly Gibbons; a Ronnie Scott’s and Birdland Jazz Club regular, with fans on both sides of the Atlantic. She has collaborated with the Natural Curve on several tracks.

BIO:

The Natural Curve is musician, songwriter, and producer Paul Cullen.

I Die is a typical Natural Curve track: a groovy collaboration with friends and musicians; a catchy ear-worm, packed with live performance, soul, funk, and character.

The Natural Curve repertoire is diverse, with downbeat, nujazz, d&b, house, and funk all featuring in the portfolio. The one thing that ties them all together: the groove. It has to be groovy. ‘All my best friends are bass players…’

The Natural Curve said: “Disco never died. It’s a musical perennial. There is always space for a new ‘classic’ and I Die is exactly that; slipping into the essential wedding DJ set and setting the dance floor on fire.

“The track is as groovy AF. It’s also a dead cert funeral favourite for the recently deceased, with a sense of humour.”

It's "Illegal Jazz" time again. Toy Tonics head honcho Mathias ‚Kapote' Modica and former OYE Records music impressario Delfonic started to release some of their reworks of rare dance jazz tracks. Made originally for their own DJ sets, then released on two limited EPs. The vinyl were sold out immediately. So they decided to do a next chapter: four reworks of obscure Latin Funk, unheard disco Soul and lot of jazzy vibes in here - not easy to decipher the originals. All tracks have been reworked for DJ buisness - editing, looping, adding drums - with full respect to the original artists. To make dancers hear and feel their vibes again.

"FIlter Coffee" is a heavy uptempo filter house tune that just waits patiently to be played out loud in a club. "L.O.V.E." on the other hand is a deep synth funk love tune for the early or late hours!
