Making his way back to the Shores imprint is Florida based producer James Kerwin, who makes his first solo debut this time around with a stunning 2 track release titled 'We Touched The Sky EP'.

Having made his first appearance on the label back in November alongside a dozen other talented names on our Coastal Selections 005 release, we were truly pleased to receiver these two new productions from James in the form of his first stand-alone EP. Both productions are just what any progressive lover is looking for, pushing luscious melodies, warm atmos and smooth basslines, all the while delivering a melodic experience that we felt stood out well amongst an ocean of progressive talents out there.

We're thrilled to present "Summer Selections 05," featuring five standout deep and progressive-flavored cuts. In this edition, we have handpicked new tracks from Dezza, Mcvinski, Eskai, Alex Pich, Lessov, Skyline Drive, Allay, and Astroleaf to complement your summer travel experiences, from scenic drives to revitalizing trips to the beach.

The high-octane "Intro84" by Canadian virtuoso Dezza, whose 2018 has been nothing short of extraordinary, kicks off the compilation. Featured already on a pair of episodes of Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy," this stormy number centers on a dynamic groove that is both exhilarating and suspenseful. The climactic main breakdown features a fully actualized, retro-tinged synth theme, backed by cinematic strings. The euphoric drop to follow is an anthem worthy of the 80s cult classic "Tron."

Having made a successful debut on our label with the moody "Perfect Travel" earlier this year, rising Russian talent Mcvinski offers "Sea Wave," another timeless deep-progressive gem. The moody, almost brooding bassline evokes an early evening surfing expedition on rough seas. The patiently crescendoing bassline and warm, often rapturous melodic and vocal layers rise up and, ultimately, overtake the listener with immense emotional force. 

Garnering over 750K streams on Spotify since its 2016 release, Eskai's groovy and poignant "Point Break" has proven to be a fan favorite. Alex Pich, an extraordinary veteran composer from our stable, delivers an equally memorable and emotive interpretation here. A cavernous bassline establishes a deep, subterranean aural vibe, while the surrounding instrumentation, replete with hypnotic arpeggios, crystalline bell-tinged synths, and hauntingly beautiful atmospheric pads, creates a mesmerizing soundscape. 

The return of celebrated musician Lessov is a thrilling moment in its own right: his last appearance on our label (a standout remix of Universal Solution's "Pressure Point") dates back to January 2016. Known for crafting lush, atmospheric deep-progressive music, the Canadian phenom picks up right where he left off, as he contributes the sensual after-hours gem, "Kami," to this release. Gorgeous melodies and swells of sound weave through the forest-like soundscape. This "wilderness" of mellifluous sonic themes continues to build in intensity; suddenly, at the song's midpoint, as the beats completely drop out, an exceedingly relaxing and harmonious theme is introduced, followed by the reappearance of Lessov's captivating mid-summer woodland symphony.

Closing out the release, the dreamy, melancholic "Ocean Boulevard" unites the talents of three gifted veteran contributors: Skyline Drive (US), Allay (NL), and Astroleaf (NO). Drawing inspiration from the burgeoning synthwave movement, Skyline Drive and Allay evoke an 80s summer romance, courtesy of several poignant minor-key synth themes, backed by similarly retro drum rolls and fills. Meanwhile, Astroleaf's wistful vocals drip with sentimentality and heartache. Listeners of a certain generation will welcome the nostalgic feel of this sweet and innocent summer tune.

This week we see a string of label favourites taking a well earn spot on our release list as we open up another massive release, this one having our good Los Angeles bound producer John grand back on the label. For those following over the past years nows he is not frequently being a name making music but at times he returns and this week we see him back with another peak time progressive trance track, named as ”Regret”.

This is a full on story teller from start to finish, packed with some truly well selected melodies that we can assure you is to make you fly. That, together with well rounded basslines, throbbing kick drums and everything in between, he surely strikes at 110% again. We are super thrilled to see the alias of John Grand return to us of course.

With an original being a true stomper, it's often follows with a fine selection of artist taking their way through some tasty remixes as well. This time we see a return from Perth, Australia as we have the pleasure to bring on the full artillery of sounds from a rare talent out there, Sam Middleton aka South Pole. Having placed music with us in the past and more to come, he surely is to showcase what an excellent producer he is through his well worked tasty interpretation of ”Regret”. We won't say much more than that as we are to let the music speak to itself, all we can add is that this is a true talent on a mission. We hope you will enjoy it!

We also see another return to the label, almost like a veteran that is back as Canadian Andrew Lang delivers in full flare again on PHW. We have stopped counting all the times that Andrew lang has contributed on the label, but we would without a doubt say that he is one of the most frequent artists having his name on a PHW release. There is always a reason for those things and one would definitely be that we are weak about the sound that Andrew has created over the years. Today he strikes with yet another winner on the label, taking ”Regret” in a different way. With his mastermind at building harmonies and energy at the same time, he surely is to take you places with his wonderful rework. We couldn't be happier than what we are to bring back another fine release on PHW, through these incredibly talented artist, let's go people!

Soluna Summer is extended with the coming of talented U.K. producer phenom, Alex H. His signature sound of beautifully orchestrated harmonics and atmospheric extravagance is renowned throughout the progressive galaxy. Indeed, we are pleased to present Alex H and his wonderful “Santa Monica” EP.

Alex H recently enjoyed his premiere visit to sunny California, in which he recounts his blissful experience in “Santa Monica” within the etchings of melodic arpeggios, pad sequences, and flirtatious basslines, all of which evoke those familiar sentimental vibes that prove efficacious in the listener’s heart. “Take Me to the Stars” has a double meaning: a walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, comprised of nearly 3,000 five-pointed brass stars along a stretch of 15 blocks to honor past and present celebrities, or a walk along the Santa Monica Beach and Pier towards the outcrop of stars that radiate like burning candles. Either way, Alex H pours his soul into the magic fires of sonic progression. The arrangement, chord progressions, and a hypnotic nebula of melodic dust combust into a radiant star.

Originally part of the elevated, "VS" series, Juan Deminicis and Pablo Acenso's deep and pulsating collaboration, "Downshifting" was pitted against the dance floor dynamism of Nick Stoynoff and Ad Brown. With "Nebulas" already receiving a full release in December 2012, the Argentinean duo's magnificent, "Downshifitng" now takes centre stage with two glorious remixes from Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Israeli duo Guy Mantzur and Khen have been at the forefront of their country's EDM success in recent years. Operating from the country's capital, Tel Aviv resident, Guy Mantzur has a passion for "electronic music crossing all genre labels", from chill-out and techno to progressive and tech house. As co-owner and AandR head honcho for the Munich based label Plattenbank, his solo releases have graced the portfolios of Mesmeric, Sudbeat and Hernan Cattaneo's "Masters Series" for Renaissance. A strong production heritage has gone hand-in-hand with a DJ pedigree that has seen Mantzur hold a residency at the Israeli capital's famous, "The Cat and The Dog". Similarly, young Israeli countryman, Khen is a regular at the decks of the Tel Aviv club. Displaying all the skill and verve to see his own work played by the industry's finest, in the shape of Guy J and Nick Warren, Khen's own catalogue of releases is growing at a rate of knots. Work for Lowbit, Bemudos and Mantzur's Plattenbank in 2011 and 2012 demonstrated a rare talent, while 2013's "Scales" for 99percentrecording confirmed Khen's status as a growing force.

With almost a score of collaborative efforts to their names and a second remix of Nick Stoynoff's epic, "Berlin Dreams" set to follow for Proton in the coming months, Mantzur and Khen's remix of "Downshifting" is a modern progressive gem. Rich in rhythmic and percussive texture, the Israelis have taken the languorous melodic sentiments of the Juan Deminicis and Pablo Acenso's original and formed a wonderfully deep sound that is further enhanced by rhythmic stabs and a sublimely emotive bass line.

The rapid rise of Ukrainian, Svatoslav Tvardovsky over the last two years has been nothing short of meteoric. Responsible for a prolific stream of music par excellence, the Kiev resident has seen his work feature on goliaths, Black Hole, Ministry of Sound and Armada while retaining the underground progressive sound that has seen his work supported by John Digweed, Henry Saiz and Guy J. Running his own Stereo Paradise label has led to a further blossoming of sounds from Eastern Europe and beyond and no better illustrated than the recent collaboration with 99percentrecordings that has seen Tvardovsky crowned number one in the Beatport "Progressive House Top 100 Releases" for his "Stereo Paradise" compilation.

Taking on "Downshifting", Tvardovsky has achieved a thumping beat-driven remix with supremely programmed bass line that fits like a glove under shuffling hi-hats and trademark arpeggios that mark the 'Tvardovsky sound'. A masterful remix that effortlessly retains the melodic essence of Deminicis and Acenso's original work while adding his own distinctive stamp ensure Tvardovsky's remix is an aural delight.

Two subtle 'shifts' in emphasis from Guy Mantzur, Khen and Tvardovsk have ensured that Juan Deminicis and Pablo Acenso's "Downshifiting" is still upwardly mobile.

Sundriver is a trance producer from Poland. He has made a name for himself in 2008 with beautiful atmospheric tracks. He was influenced by the likes of Paul van Dyk and Chicane. His two big breakthrough tracks of 2008 were “Feel” which won record of the week on Trance around the world. This track also got a nice touch up remix from Underwater and Nitrous Oxide. His other track “City Lights” record of the week on Trance around the world 220. This track must of impressed Above & Beyond so much that they signed it to Anjunabeats and will be showcased on Anjunabeats Volume 6 which will be released in early October. When listening to other tracks like “Monique” or “In waiting for Summer”, he takes the listener on a breath taking journey with much emotions.
