Well lets take it from the top.. I am MC SID ,on fb my name is Mc sid-dharth sood..n  I represent  Desi Hip hop…and I think it would be fair to call me a one of a kind ‘Indian’ free style rap artist.

JAY-Z defines Hip Hop. Period. Eminem is nice for beginners.


My composition of lyrics is instantaneous and original. Mixed with popular
hip hop beats keeping the crowd highly entertained. Of late I have been working on using Punjabi break beats to use in my compositions which indigenize the content more and hence helps all parts of the present crowd relate. Hence the evolution of desi hip hop or what I call now in its latest avtar BOLLYWOOD RAP!


More so... the lacking of an American accent or any accent in my vocals allows the listener (predominantly Indian) to easily decipher the lyrics which increases the appreciation of the act. [ they get it!!!]

Rap my friends is the acronym for rythme and poetry.

Strangely I prefer classic rock, love yuppie puppie -r n b, and feel Britney might still make a come back. Kesha is making life tuff but I guess that’s tik tok tik tok for u…

My story as such is quite simple and like all good things purley accidental, I got into performing rap music because like every other kid from Delhi.. When Eminem broke loose with slim shady I wanted in on being ‘cool’ so I bought the cd. Downloaded the lyrics and tried my level best to learn the song by heart.

I was quite hopeless, forgetting punch line after punch line. in every verse.
So I said hell with it.. I’m still gonna sing along. N made up my own words as the song went along.. and low behold after lots of pals makin’ loads of fun.. treatin me like a juke box in college.. any given time “ sid rap nahh yaar “ at all odd hrs and every possible party one show after another n well it all began to make sense.

I learned as I performed at every possible venue! House parties,clubs,fashion shows, restraunts last month I even performed at a baby shower!!!! [ well the after party to the baby shower atleast]

Performing at weddings is my latest thing! And its awesome fun. Why? Well..cuz

I tried being all getto.. n wearing big chains.. a lotta bling and talking dirty but. As I performed more n more.. it simply was a complete disconnect form anything any normal Indian figured so I changed it up!!

It wasn’t rocket science to establish party people just wanna have fun and really don’t care about bombs in Iraq.. more about sex bombs in bollywood.!
Hence my new act is more of a Russel peters meets Eminem..laughter therapy in a sing song manner! Is fun.. its about the audience..and everyones invited.. [ a part is insult humor but only if the audience is upto it..]

And I guess the rest as they say is on my discography!

I got a 25 city  club tour with Kingfisher and radio mirchi in 2008 -09 n have performed in every major city in india! And a few select global destination for the NRI lot.. hongkong, bali, dubai,Bangkok,Malaga [spain] strangely all for weddings!

 I have worked wid Channel[V] on the show Channel [V] VJ Freshers. in 2006- 07 trying to bring about a certain understanding of the form of music via live performance on the show.. I have also worked with VH1. for VH1 HIP HOP HUSTLE which was held at Elevate [ New Delhi ] with MOBB DEEP performing.2007 I was the emcee
 for the nite and opened for MOBB DEEP. I also opened for AKON. at the
BIG V CONCERT PRE PARTY in Bombay. [ Akon never made it for the party.. his flight was delayed!!]
