Wouter Achterberg - Binary Choice (Short Edit)

MARZZ is Agustín Márquez, born in the city of La Plata, Argentina, has forged a multifaceted musical career over the years. 

His journey in music began early at the age of 14 when he fully immersed himself in the world of sounds, teaching himself to play the electric bass and harmonica. During his adolescence, he fully engaged in rock bands, having the opportunity to record albums and deliver live performances that left a lasting mark on his development.

In 2019, Agustín took a new direction and ventured into the electronic music scene. This transition allowed him to express his creativity in a different way, blending a variety of genres in his sets. His style encompasses elements of progressive, techno, and indie dance, aiming to create sonic experiences that captivate his audience.

In 2022, he decided to formalize his passion by studying "Urban and Electronic Music Production" at the EMU. Now, in 2023, he is launching himself as a DJ and producer under the artistic name MARZZ with the goal of sharing his music. Some of the influences that have shaped his career include Guy J, Giorgia Angiuli, Whomadewho, Rafael Cerato, Pavel Petrov, Hernán Cattáneo, and Eelke Kleijn, among others.

Kicking things off this month we have a split EP from two very talented Melbourne artists in Bound and Rem Siman. This is the second outing on the label and we are thrilled to have them back.

Heading up the release are “Bound” with their tracks “Somebody”and “Finite. Both tunes showcase the boys diversity in production, with the music towing the line between the melodic and progressive house sphere.

Rem Siman also showcases his range with two bombs in “Totem” and “Oh Yeah”. Totem has a much more tribal feel with afro and melodic vibes, where as “Oh Yeah” sit’s nicely in the indie dance realm sampling “Yello’s” 80’s hit “Oh Yeah”. Both records have been tried and tested and a sure fire dance floor weapons.
