Astral Records opens the month of July with a new collaborative project from Paul Anthonee and Emiliano Demarco. In addition to being a core part of the Astral family, Paul Anthonee has achieved global recognition for his far-reaching sound. Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Innellea, Fideles, Kevin De Vries and more have praised his work, while Running Clouds, Steyoyoke, Parquet and UV Noir have been landing spots for his sought-after tracks. In recent years Paul has chosen to primarily focus on Astral as his production home, while also adding Melodic Room, Ritual and We Are to his resume. Meanwhile, hailing from Argentina, Emiliano Demarco has achieved measurable success across his near decade long career. Releases via Eleatics Records, Future Romance and Sequence Music highlight his discography, while trendsetting DJs in 8Kays, Coeus, Massano, Oostil and Tale of Us have been supporters along the way. Astral Records has also been a home for Emiliano, with his debut coming earlier this year alongside occasional production partner Maxi Vega. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Paul and Emiliano present their debut collaboration via Astral entitled 'Empires of Mind', alongside a remix from Khainz. Beginning with the darker monochromes of the original mix, the duo's craftsmanship reveals itself, as metallic melodies and sci-fi vocal samples flicker and shift atop tight kick drums and crunchy grooves, eventually leading to a series of granular swells. The main break proves to be highly emotive, flowing through striking sonics and thought-provoking vocals, building tension with each successive pass, as drums assemble into a vortex for a thunderous drop and high-octane finale. Returning to the label with the lone interpretation of 'Empires of Mind' is Khainz. As one of Switzerland's most recognized electronic music artists, the Luzern resident has found a home on Iboga Records, Einmusika, Spectrum, Sprout and YoshiToshi. Also a regular on the European festival circuit, Khainz remains one of his country's most sought after DJs, having played Boom Festival, Rainbow Serpent and others. Now, fresh off his latest vehicle for Module Music, Khainz makes his Astral Records debut with a groovy rendition of 'Empires of Mind'. Opting for a direct dancefloor approach, the Swiss artist conveys the mood from the original beautifully, fragmenting elements for an equally charged yet less vocally dominant version which draws more emotion from the break, making it a perfect peak time track to add to your summer arsenal.
