Spanish DJ, producer and house music tastemaker Dosem brings us ‘Answer’ featuring Korean-American artist SOHMI. ‘Answer’ is the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Desire’, landing 30th August on Anjunadeep.

With a career spanning over 15 years, Marc Dosem released his debut album ‘Parallel’ in 2011 on former Hong Kong imprint Sino and first teamed up with Anjunadeep in 2018 on two-track single ‘Not A Coincidence / Why Give Up Before We Try’. Known for his club anthems that have soundtracked late nights and early mornings on dancefloors around the world, Dosem has released on Toolroom, Armada, Purified and his own label Houstrike, alongside delivering remixes for the likes of Hot Since 82, Above & Beyond and Eli & Fur. He is also well known for his 2021 collaboration with Tinlicker, ‘Hypnotised’, which has racked up over 10 million streams across all platforms.

An artist who’s always in demand, Dosem has already completed headline tours in Australia and the USA this year, and has recently played in London, Tokyo and his hometown of Girona. Alongside these appearances, Marc has appeared on festival stages at Ultra Miami, Sónar Festival, SXM Festival and Tomorrowland, and been supported by Boiler Room, who aired his set from Girona’s Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya all the way back in 2017.

In the four years since his previous artist album ‘Dream Decoder’, Dosem has continued to finesse his signature blend of progressive and deep house designed to get people moving and bring crowds of like-minded music lovers together.

His new album, ‘Desire’, is heavily influenced by ‘90s progressive house and techno, and reflects their euphoric, deep, and atmospheric qualities through a modern lens. Across its twelve tracks, the LP explores themes of community, connection, and passion.

On first single ‘Answer’, Dosem pair’s SOHMI's catchy vocal topline with a hard hitting bassline that would fit on a variety of dancefloors; the type of versatile production that showcases why he’s been supported by artists as diverse as Hot Since 82, Gorgon City, and Adam Beyer. Other standouts include ‘Ethernal’, a collaboration with Anjunadeep favourite HANA on vocals, and high-energy club track ‘Tranced House’, which sit alongside deeper cuts including ‘Cold Shores’ featuring Carla Werner, ‘Unjetlag’ and ’Sensations’.

John Cosani returns to the label with three new tracks. 

Highly regarded among his peers, the Argentinian DJ/producer has continued to gather pace with stand out tracks for Tale & Tone, Timeless Moment and Warung Recordings. Known for his silky smooth DJ sets, John has soundtracked parties all over the globe. 

Opening with ‘Drooping’, Cosani wastes no time getting into the groove. Supremely funky, the shaker-led percussion and rubbery bass are a match made in heaven punctuated only by the swarm-like synths that ebb and flow. Reaching fever pitch in the main break, the second section is a maelstrom of energy and airy sonics. Perfect peak time beats. 

‘It Doesn’t’ keeps the pace up with an uptempo vibe that sets the stage for some firework melodics. Mutating into a monster groove over the first few minutes, melodics add new textures and energy in the mid-section. Serving as a calm oasis, the main break strips back the elements before the final half powers from the blocks. Finally, ‘Donga’ rounds out the pack in style. Never too tough, never too trancey, it grooves along piquing interest with its ebbs and flows. A secret weapon for the summer months

A stellar career both behind the decks and in the studio, GMJ returns to Meanwhile Horizons with a twin-track EP of rare quality and vision in “Boundless / Ebb & Flow”.

Under his GMJ moniker Gavin Griffin has been responsible for a host of original releases on the flagship Meanwhile imprint that includes the likes of October 2020’s “Mood Medicine”, July 2022’s “Empty to Fill” and a raft of work with friend, production partner and label co-founder, Matter.

Now finding his way back to the Meanwhile Horizons sister label, after “Bayen / Metai / Valinor” took centre stage in August 2023, “Boundless” is a chunky rhythmic gem that bristles with low-end groove as a smooth bassline sequence interacts effortlessly with thumping beat and syncopated hi-hat pattern where luscious pads drift through time and space with endless reverb and infinite delays. Developing over its 7-minute timeframe delicate melodic refrains drift in freeform fashion to create an unrestrained and open sonic soundscape that comes to the fore at the mid-point before copious spot effects and rhythmic foundation play out in the latter stages.

Similarly redolent in percussive club-friendly groove, “Ebb & Flow” flows purposefully along its course with a metronomic energy. A chunky bassline pattern continues the rich narrative found in the partner track as breathy vocal pads and undulating phrases add an ethereal air to proceedings. White noise swells rise and fall to herald in new movements while cascading melodic elements and a plethora of different motifs provide the track with its apposite title.

With effortless technique and a wealth of subtle flourishes, GMJ once again finds himself at the fore with “Boundless / Ebb & Flow”.

KÖNI, an Italian-Albanian artist based in Switzerland, and Seba Campos, a Chilean DJ also residing in Switzerland, join forces to breathe new life into the famous resistance anthem "Bella Ciao." Originally sung by the mondine - seasonal workers in the rice fields of Lombardy and Piedmont - and later adopted by the Italian partisans, fighters of the Resistance against the fascist regime and Nazi occupation during World War II, this song represents a universal symbol of struggle and freedom.

KÖNI's downtempo reinterpretation fully reflects his organic and sophisticated sounds, creating an ideal atmosphere for deep and introspective listening. His approach not only enriches the sonorities of the song but also invites listeners to immerse themselves in the history and spirit of resistance encapsulated in every note. Furthermore, KÖNI wanted to bring the song to a wider audience by readapting it and having it sung in Spanish.

Seba Campos, with his dynamic and fluent touch, injects energy into the composition, giving life to a faster and more rhythmic version. However, his interpretation maintains the sophistication of the original song, creating a soundscape on which to dance with the camaraderie of those who recognize and appreciate the value of freedom.

Despite their differences, the two versions complement each other in a magnificent play of light and shadow, celebrating music's ability to unite cultures and generations. KÖNI and Seba Campos demonstrate how music can be a bridge between past and present, between reflection and action.
