Balmora (or Stoneforest in Dunmeris) is the nominal district seat of House Hlaalu, and the second largest settlement geographically on Vvardenfell after Vivec. Balmora is located at the southernmost edge of the West Gash, right at the point where the region converges with the Ashlands, the marshes of the Bitter Coast and the lush plantations of the Ascadian Isles. The Odai River runs through its heart and divides it into four districts, High Town, the Commercial District, Labor Town, and nearby Moonmoth Legion Fort.

Bells of Balmora

Since 2013, this time of the year, I record Christmas music to my friends. I send these around the same way as people send cards. Watching the marvelous tv show Peaky Blinders, this beautiful Xmas carol came into my view. As I started working on arranging a string quartet to play along to, I have found this gem of an orchestral arrangement from David Chappell https://soundcloud.com/davidchappell-2/in-the-bleak-midwinter-orchestral-arrangement
I immediately realized that this is far better than anything I could do myself so I focused on the guitar part only. Thanks David, and Happy Holidays to Everyone!

Reflections

The Last Day

Recently we were forced to recognize fragility in a number of ways. Our ecosystem, our health and life, relationships, our job security, our democracy are among the things that were proven to be more fragile than we normally perceived them to be. There are lessons to be learned.
This track is experimental in at least two dimensions. It does not have a chord progression but it stays more of less within the C# scale and approaches cadences in a less determined, fragile way. Mastering of the track is an attempt to create different experiences when it is listened quietly or loud. I suggest to test both.
