There are not many words to say as this incredible release speaks words of its own to magnify the beauty of this ever evolving genre so we hope you enjoy this one as much as we did!  

The first track we proudly present to you is 'As The Years Went By' & what better way to delve into the context of this serene title by being taken on a smooth flowing journey packed with melodies so powerful that it's almost tangible in our hands. The stunning structure of the jaunty & vibrant range of chords used highlights the feeling of time passing by slowly, allowing us to savor each minute that slips through our grasps.The progression of the steady & light kicks melds in perfectly with the tender piano backdrop that floats with the more powerful chords. If there ever was something to describe a sentimental moment of thinking of the precious memories we lose to time, then this is stroke of the writer's quill that dictates it. 

The second track titled 'Sunset Over Emst' is another that follows on the trend of being subjected to heart wrenching melodic components from beginning to end. It starts off as gentle as a butterfly's wings beating in the fresh spring air, like the exquisite range of chords hover around us, sinking in with every breath we take. The deeper & more intricate piano lines haunt us with how delicate they are, simply adding flavor to the already delectable sound arrangements. As the summer is winding down & people get on with their lives, you'll feel like you are sat in a lush green field, watching the sun dip behind the skyline of the striking town of Emst, or wherever you may be & it'll be alright as long as you have these magical sounds in your ears. 

Once again, productions like these from dedicated producers like Roald Velden reiterate why this music moves us so much to a point where goosebumps become permanent due to the beauty that is spread through our heart & soul. Our first remix on Mango Alley was of the grand "The Shore" by Mango and SEAWAVES. It was great working with both of them and the response to the track was fantastic, and prompted a beautifully shot music video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJe1DfY0qms). So it was an absolute pleasure to combine forces again, with SEAWAVES on vocals and releasing on Mango Alley.

The piece is inspired by a story about a lighthouse watchman who loses his love in a shipwreck and decides to take his own life so that he can be with her once again. A sad tale with a thread of beauty. The original version is the Sunset remix, but we wanted to create a 4/4 interpretation too, that you can find in the Sunrise remix.

For our 19th release on Perfecto Black, we are delighted to welcome the return of Trilucid, the collaboration of Andy MacDougall and Hilton Caswell. It’s fair to say they have been in outstanding form recently, perfecting their sound, with releases on Anjunabeats, Coldharbour, Black Hole Perfecto to name but a few. They are heavily in demand, thriving in their residency at the Gallery in London. Together they create progressive house that takes you back to the golden age of the genre - choosing potent melody and all-encompassing emotion in each individual track released. Taking some of the groove and tension of progressive house, their tracks strike the perfect balance between considered cool and spine-tingling intensity, appealing to fans far and wide.

Unsurprisingly, Mirrors does not disappoint. It is a truly stunning track with beautiful pads combined with classic Trilucid riffs, and a bassline that simply needs to be heard. The uniqueness of this track is one of it’s best features. It crosses multiple genres and could sit comfortable in a solid tech house set or capture the euphoria of a trance set. The second we heard it, it was signed!

First up on remix duties is Rory Gallagher, a new name to Black but definitely not new to the scene. Rory has a wealth of experience both behind the decks and producing, with release on Bedrock, Armada, Natura Viva and more. Rory’s ethos on music is exactly what we look for in tracks for Black. He perfectly blends intricate spine tingling melodies with darker, more progressive basslines and almost tech house style production. He sticks to his roots with the remix and the end result is outstanding. Watch this space for more from Rory on Black…..

Marsh (Tom Marshall) is next up on remix duties. He is definitely one to keep an eye on, an extremely talented producer and someone we hope to work more with at Black. With a plethora of releases on Silk Music and Anjunabeats, his style is superbly produced, deep melodic progressive house. His remix is truly outstanding, the creativity to complement the original track’s melody with his own unique, gorgeous melody works superbly. Fans of deep melodic prog are in for a real treat with this gem. 

Last but definitely not least is the main man Paul Oakenfold showcasing his own edit to the track, to complete one of the strongest EP’s we have released on Black to date. Together they create trance that takes you back to the golden age of the genre - choosing potent melody and all-encompassing emotion in each individual track released.
