In one week during the month of September 2021, my brother had a baby, my sister got married and I broke up with my long term boyfriend and had to temporarily move back in with my parents. Someone has to be the hot mess.
During one tragic zoom session in that time period, my hot therapist told me when I was feeling this bad to remember to drink water and get dressed then my dad, passing me in the corridor afterwards, told me I had 'dropped my smile on the floor.' This is a homage to that tapestry of support I got at the time. The first verse is also a letter I wrote to myself to say thanks for getting through it.
I produced this in my Peckham flat and loved getting my violin out for the strings sections!
I also did the artwork with help from my dad on the car!
