Silk Royal welcomes Dan & Sam to the imprint for their debut release, "Breaking The Illusion". This incredibly gifted duo consists of Dan Sieg and Sam Wilkinson, who hail from the States and Australia, respectively. On this particular release, Japanese label veteran Shingo Nakamura contributes the sole remix, which is truly as emotive and timeless as the original.

Dan & Sam's Original Mix is a melancholic, yet uplifting progressive trance anthem, which effectively channels the emotional energy required to 'break the illusion' of a previously blissful relationship. It begins with a chunky rhythm and "teaser" guitar pluck, which hints at the incisive theme that is featured in the main break. A powerful low-end energy emerges after the 32-bar intro, soon followed by higher-octave chord layers and subtle piano-based melodic themes. At the quarter turn, an awe-inspiring progression arrives: numerous layers create a deeply moving and haunting theme, upon which the remainder of the song builds. In the subsequent breakdowns, various variations on these themes are introduced, all of which wax and wane in intensity and emotional resonance. The end result is a truly breath-taking slice of progressive - one that has quickly become one of our favorite offerings in Silk Royal's label history.

Summer warmth ebbs gently away replaced by autumnal overtures. A year has passed in the twinkling of sun sparkled eye and another collection of tracks converge, lighting a path to "Where Horizon Sparks" into glowing tribute. Twenty offerings of beauty and grace nourish the airwaves with warmth and iridescent glow. 

Voices echo from a distant past, catching on wavering breeze. Beaches filled with half-formed sculptures tell tales of childhood fascinations of castles and fairy tales, belying their former purpose in gateway to conquering worlds and voyages of discovery.

The first is 'Distant Memories', a glorious pure progressive production that contains those mouth watering melody laden chords and tender kicks that highlight the soft yet stunning emotions compiled in this track. It is not lacking in those signature sounds from both producers either which work superably to compliment each other's style and the end product is proof of that.

Another awe inspiring EP that is comprised up of some of the most talented names and it isn't difficult to hear or see why that is. We hope that something in this varied and colorful EP caught you in daze due to its mesmerizing selection like it did for us.

Being a hot number on the scene over the past years, we feel privileged to welcome back Italy's finest when it comes melodic progressive music as Richard Bass yet again returns to our PHW division. With a string of release on the label, gaining support from leading names in the business, we of course welcome him back with his new baby “See Beyond”. 

As always you are to be in for a treat, as he goes in full flare with his trademark uplifting melodic arrangements and fresh pumping summer vibes. It’s always a great blend from him, that definitely is to take you places and remind you of the summer sunsets and lazy days on the beach.

We also see the return of Poland based producer Bee Hunter, a producer that has been with us many times over the years as he deliver the first out of the two remixes on this release. It’s as vibrant and relaxing as always from Bee Hunter, focusing on clear soundscapes, dreamy melodic arrangements and that fresh touch he always keeps on his music. It’s another stunning one from him! 

Last but not least we see another familiar producer on the label, as Greek producer Fiben once again delivers on remix duty. He’s spoilt us on many releases with his skilled piece of music, and here is another one keeping the fresh summer vibes alive. He goes slightly deeper and more relaxing than before but the depth and blend of melodies kept on the track makes this another sensation from the Greece bound producer. We are always happy to see him join back on the label with his well selected renditions.

“We see Sunset Melodies mainly as a movement of passionate people…want to move people by bringing music that takes a listener into another world.” What’s more, the label serves as a platform for undiscovered talent that “…gives them an opportunity to be heard within a vast majority of networks, establish an identity with an outlet for their music.” Ultimately, “We want to bring as many people into the underground scene…and our main goal is to make people happy with the type of music we release.”

“The moniker originally started as a YouTube channel back in 2009,” said Wahed Achterberg, label manager. “This turned into regular uploads of mixes with the latest releases of Progressive House and Progressive Trance that have accumulated thousands of subscribers and millions of [video] views.” Guest mixers have included with participants like Nigel Good, Vitodito, Dan & Sam, Aerotek, Kobana, Shingo Nakamura, Shawn Mitiska, to name a few. The channel garnered the attention of labels and producers, earning a position as “…a substantial voice within the underground scene (Tiefhaus Records).” Schodt, of Silk Royal, even said, “Love those videos…sounds wonderful…have very nice taste in tracks.” The transition from a YouTube channel to becoming a label resulted with a relationship of Fuzzy Recordings. “I started promoting their releases (on mixes).
