While on cusp of summer, as all are gearing up for the 2015 season we’ve been busy putting together the 15th edition of our genre exposé, Full Body Workout. This time around we’ve got amazing tracks from Joyce Muniz, Alican, Julian Ganzer & IOAKIM SAYZ, Tom Peters and more, all mixed delicately by the lovely Seattle native, Camea. 

The compilation features everything from playful melodies as heard in Tom Peters’ ‘We Are Going Ahead’ to heavier, edgier (no pun intended) moods like ‘Edge Of Infinity’ from Camea herself. Kotelett & Zadak share a driving Acid House vibe with ‘Your Secret’ as Julian Ganzer & IOAKIM SAYZ create a groovy, chilled number called ‘Where I Want It’. For a slightly dreamier ambience, look no further than Jeremy Israel’s ‘Sundried Tomato’, and then ‘Three Sharp Knocks’ from Ricky Leo & Luca Doobie for your dancefloor killer.  

From beginning to end, Full Body Workout Vol. 15 shows the dynamic range of Get Physical’s sound while presenting the bleeding edge of current trends in the electronic music scene they support and represent.

III Points has partnered with 10K Islands in Little Haiti to present their first ever compilation project, Swerving Serpents Vol.1. A community-wide music project aiming to connect (thoughts, people, ideas, communities), the compilation was created to represent a submerged music scene.  Miami’s local artists are often under represented and lacking the platform to connect. This project, led by III Points and 10K Islands, aims to bring these sonic gems together and raise their sounds to the surface and into the light. III Points mission is to elevate our Miami, and this is just another way in engaging our music scene. 

Collectively we have chosen nine locals from different worlds and genres, and paired them up in 10K Islands Little Haiti studio to get creative. All of the selected artists are playing III Points Festival in October. The artists were given 48 hours in a state of the art music studio, a bag of weed, a box of pizza and total creative freedom. What comes from these collaborations is something unexpectedly rare and weirdly cohesive. With a proper mix and master from 10K Islands, both teams hope to create a compilation that sparks the collaborative spirit of Miami’s diverse talent. The first track will be released on Monday August 29th via III Points' Soundcloud page (soundcloud.com/iiipoints).  You can also catch the tracks live at the Swerving Serpents release party at Bardot on Thursday, September 29th.

Juno Review: You'll normally find OdD lurking round their own self-titled label, but on this occasion they're moonlighting on SPORTS with more of that shuffling, jazzy minimal house they've made their calling card. "Little Drum" is a perfect percussive trip-out of a track, all dense layers of rhythm locking into a dreamy house swell, while "The Reload" offers a distinctly different prospect powered by driving machine beats and techy synth threads. Kamran Sadeghi turns "Little Drum" into a dynamic, dark-edged tech-house workout, and Malin Genie drops some freaky electro stylings all over "The Reload", making this a 12" with something for everyone (who likes quality house, techno and electro at least).
