Feeling You

So with the 5AM Trio, we've been talking a lot about how to make more trap-style tunes to play in our sets. One day I was at the bouldering gym and a marimba melody popped into my head along with a break-beat style drum groove and thought "ooh that's hot", so I ran home and sketched-up the initial idea for "Heat". After jamming on it a bit with the Trio, as it often does, it turned from a simple, singular idea into a dynamic journey through trap, house, and breaks that will be really fun to explore in future live sets.

As we journey through the Haze, we remember home. This release is deeply rooted in dubstep and trap, but uses those roots as a launch-pad to the outer realms of musicality. As we adventure from a small basement studio in Philadelphia to hazy dance-floors around the country, this EP documents that journey through sound, exploring the intersections of bass music with house, jazz, world music, and idm through searing guitar riffs, ethereal synths and powerful drums, and is definitely the closest we've ever been to realizing the vision of this project.

smooth lil beat from a day where i needed to make music to help me move thru some challenging feelings, hope u vibe with it and it feels good to you too.

i've got lots of lil projects from over the years i wanna put out there to make space for new creative works to come thru
its been a big few years for me here
and for some reason i've felt stalled at some points with getting releases out
likely just me getting in my own way / over analyzing things
i'm honestly so over battling myself, so heres to sharing freely , with a light heart, the things that come through me.
