I LOVE Margie, so very much. And only just stumbled upon this track from her self title Margie LP a couple of months back. Some lovely production but not quite what it takes for most dance floors and NOWHERE NEAR LONG ENOUGH.

As always I've tried to show maximum love for the original, just wanted to toughen up those beats and hear that insanely good chorus a few more times. I hope you enjoy!

I dug deeply into the Sonor Music arsenal to pick and mix some forgotten beauties from the golden era of italian soundtracks and library music. Many of these Maestros are true musical heroes for me, inspired my works and influenced my taste in music consistently. Some are less known but really worth rediscovering in my humble opionion. Many decades after the first release still sounds so fresh! and in most cases ahead of that time! The mix start funkier while is low on tempo, than became jazzier and faster, the last part reflect my love for bossanova and mood painting.

After releasing his 'Moyo Wangu' album in late 2016 where David Hanke connected to the time he spent in his early childhood in Arusha/Tanzania, it's now time for 'Moyo Zaidi', the remixed version of the original album. While 'Moyo Wangu' was translated as 'My Heart', 'Moyo Zaidi' can be translated as 'Heart Returned'.

The original songs have been reworked by twelve producers and DJs from all across the scene and continents. From America over Europe to Australia and from Funk over Cumbia and Dub to Deep House and Downbeat this remix album is a bounty stack of styles and directions.
Funk versions from Moscow, Lisboa and London, some Cumbia from Brisbane, a Dub treatment from Los Angeles, Afrodisco comes from Bogotá, soulful Downbeat from the Black Forest and London, a slow mover from Hamburg and twisted Deep House from Amsterdam, Belgrad and London.

The cut is a great cover of Comencemos by Phirpo y sus Caribes, which is in itself a re-imagining of Fela's Let's Start. We took it partway back to Fela with and made sure to keep the dancefloor in mind.

Puzzle People - French Fried Boogie - MM rework

"Matasuna Records" is delighted to make a musical detour to Mexico for the first time with its new release. The 7inch contains two rare Latinfunk & -Soul songs of Mexican band "Apache". The songs "Liberate" and "Hombre" were released in 1975 & 1976 and are now available on vinyl again for the first time ever. This time Matasuna companion "Voodoocuts" is back again to contribute a formidable rework of "Hombre".

Members of the band "La Fórmula ER77" formed "Apache" in the early 70s in Torreón, Mexico. The 8-piece band performed on many stages, but became known to a larger audience through an appearance on the popular Mexican TV show "Siempre en Domingo". Another success was their song "Kung Fu Chino", which was popular throughout Latin America.

In 1976, their first LP "Del Bumpin Al Hustle" was released, which contains, with one exception, only cover versions of international hits from that time. Although the originals were popular music, Apache adopted them with their own funky attitude.

At the end of the decade, the original group disbanded. Two members joined with other musicians in the early 80s to pursue a different musical direction under the new band name "Tropicalisimo Apache", which is still active today.

"Liberate" is a song composed by "Rafaél Gonzáles, who was also responsible for the production of the LP. The song is the only original composition on the album and differs stylistically from the other songs not only because of that: Liberate is a heavy Latin funk joint par excellence that leaves you wanting more!

On the flip side, you won't be disappointed: "Hombre" is another great song composed and arranged by the band's trumpet player, "Ernesto Haros". "Voodoocuts" Rework strips down the original to its instrumental base to skillfully build a new arrangement, which is enriched by additional samples, a bunch of beats and breaks and various effects. Without a doubt another tropical dancefloor treat!
