Lorenzo Tempesti is an Italian soundtrack composer from Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia. He has published various albums on his own (notably his piano CD "While the Others Sleep", 2016) and participated in compilations by the international labels Soundiva and Raighes Factory. In 2020 Lorenzo Tempesti released 5 singles (among which a collab with Ada De Antonio, "Last Bourbon") and an EP entitled "Suite for Malta". In 2021, he has reached 80,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. In this year he already released two singles under its name and two under the monikers Storm(s) and The Second Sound.

Il brano si apre in modo delicato, con l'enunciazione del semplice tema. Racconta storie di serenità, semplicità, innocenza... che si trasformano in una passione romantica sempre più grande, trasmessa con maestosità ed energia dal pianoforte, che assume toni sempre più epici, per poi sfociare di nuovo in una delicatissima coda in diminuendo. Le note riprendono lo stile di Richard Clayderman, di Yiruma, della colonna sonora di Twilight.

A volte l'ispirazione viene davvero da uno stimolo semplice: un'amica posta una foto su Facebook ed ecco nascere un brano che ne faccia da sottofondo. L'aria tranquilla dell'estate entra dalla finestra, insieme a un raggio di sole. Un dolce pianoforte viene subito affiancato dal violino. Semplici percussioni scandiscono il ritmo, mentre le quattro voci della melodia procedono in un incedere quasi ipnotico.

La malinconia si fa tristezza, la tristezza morte... in questa "Suffocation" (soffocamento), come Hans von Bulow ha voluto chiamarla, il Preludio n. 4 di Frederic Chopin. Celebre brano per pianoforte del più grande compositore per questo strumento.
