Bereits vor über 20 Jahren veröffentlichte Cassy ihre erste Platte. Daraufhin folgte eine Karriere, die ihresgleichen sucht. Cassy hat in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London, New York und Los Angeles gelebt, im legendären Plattenladen Hard Wax gearbeitet und Residencies in berühmten Clubs wie Panorama Bar, Trouw, Output, DC-10 für Circo Loco, Rex Club, Amnesia für Cocoon und Pacha mit ihrer eigenen Nacht im Pachacha Room gehalten – und noch vieles mehr.

Anja Schneider ist ebenfalls eine wahre Ikone der Szene, die bereits seit den 90er-Jahren aktiv und erfolgreich ist. 2021 wurde sie von der Berlin Music Commission für ihren außergewöhnlichen Einfluss auf die Musikszene ausgezeichnet. Neben ihren energiegeladenen DJ-Sets ist Anja Schneider auch für ihre innovativen Produktionen und ihr Engagement in der Förderung neuer Talente bekannt. Zudem gründete und betrieb sie das weltweit bekannte Label Mobilee Records bis 2017, bevor sie im selben Jahr ihr neues Label Sous Music ins Leben rief.

Bis heute Pflegen die beiden DJs eine innige Freundschaft. Mit ihrer Eventreihe PuMp, die bereits unter anderem im Watergate stattfand, ist Anja Schneider inzwischen auch regelmäßig in der Rakete Nürnberg zu Gast. Beim letzten Dayrave entstand ein wundervolles, knapp siebenstündiges Back2Back-Set der beiden. Viel Spaß mit dieser Spezialausgabe des Jeden Tag ein Set-Podcasts!

More than 20 years ago, Cassy released her first record. What followed was a career unlike any other. She has lived in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London, New York, and Los Angeles, worked at the legendary record store Hard Wax, and held residencies at renowned clubs such as Panorama Bar, Trouw, Output, DC-10 for Circo Loco, Rex Club, Amnesia for Cocoon, and Pacha, where she hosted her own night in the Pachacha Room—and much more.

Anja Schneider is also a true icon of the scene, having been active and successful since the 1990s. In 2021, she was honored by the Berlin Music Commission for her exceptional influence on the music scene. In addition to her energetic DJ sets, Anja Schneider is known for her innovative productions and dedication to supporting emerging talent. She also founded and ran the globally renowned label Mobilee Records until 2017, before launching her new label Sous Music later that same year.

To this day, the two DJs share a close friendship. With her event series PuMp, which has already taken place at venues like Watergate, Anja Schneider is now also a regular guest at Rakete Nürnberg. At the last Dayrave, the two delivered a stunning, nearly seven-hour Back2Back set. Enjoy this special edition of the Jeden Tag ein Set podcast!

3 QUESTIONS to SOLEE:

Q: Some words about the music included in this podcast?

A: First of all I really love this concept! ;-) I decided to select some important tracks for me from my personal beginnings. Not the beginning of my project "Solee". When I started to listen, feel and celebrate electronic music in the early 90ies these were the tracks I felt in love with. With these tracks I spent many hours on the dancefloor when I drove with my friends to Frankfurt or Munich to big rave parties or to our local clubs in Stuttgart. But this kind of atmospheric and melodic music also inspired me to start collecting music, playing as a DJ and later producing my own music. Hey, maybe you can still hear some influences in my current "Solee" productions...haha! Anyway it was pure fun to dig out these oldies. Respect to the producers who created timeless masterpieces!!!


Q: Parquet Recordings is an established label since lots of years. What are your future plans with it?

A: Actually I´m really happy as things are now with Parquet Recordings. I still feel that the label is growing and getting more support from many different sites. So i think I don´t change a lot in future and will try to sign furthermore good music & artists and follow my musical concept, irrespective of any amusing trends or hypes.

Q: Which new Solee releases are in progress?

A: My "10 Years Parquet Recordings" CD Mix-Compilation has just been released including a new production called "Hyper". Furthermore I finished some remixes for artists like Habischman, Djuma Soundsystem, Third Son & Wally Lopez or Oliver Schories. They will be released in the coming weeks/months. Some new originals are also in progress - so stay tuned.

„Amygdala“ is Koze’s Sgt. Pepper. It’s an unreal 78-minute walk through Koze’s mind, complete with moods, intensities, sounds and scenes as yet unheard of. It feels more like a double album, urging you to turn over and change the records time and time again. "Amygdala" amazes by its sheer musicality, deepness, and its  ethereal sound design; it’s a kaleidoscope of a great variety of soundscapes where you keep discovering new nuances even after listening to it a thousand times. Nobody else could unite artists like Caribou and Dirk von Lotzow, Hildegard Knef and Mathew Dear, Ada and Milosh in such an organic way and on one and the same record as Koze did. There’s never been anything like it.

He weaves new garments around the a capella parts of his guests, garments that only he can tailor, and that’s how the album, for all the diversity of its artists, sounds consistently homogeneous and in the true style of Kosi Kos. It’s all about “the courage to dare”, about letting voices resonate undisguised in all their authentic peculiarity.  About creating  truthfulness.

How much can you cut out, when does the flame die down? On the other hand, under which circumstances could it even burn for ever?

The album, which in large parts has been composed in a Spanish fishing village, starts off with Balinese gamelan sounds from which a relaxed discoid bass peels off, caressed by mystic backwards basslines, balafon resonances and slide guitar chords. You can hear the ceaseless chirping, twittering and cheeping from all the treetops of Koze's exotic jungle.
