“No Dress (Modulor Acid Mix)” is the latest single by The People’s Dance Collective featuring vocals by Melbourne/Naarm’s own Modular (Olivas).

This acid soaked version of “No Dress” features waves of 303 energy, distorted perceptions of time and heightened levels of euphoria. A stripped back lo fi house beat provides a concrete foundation for a dance floor weapon.

There is a clear nod to MS Kittin and the Hacker in this partnership. No Dress describes how gender stereotypes are being broken down and blurred in the DJ Booth. Big delays on the vocals keep things spacey. Ironic vocals are just so European, aren’t they?

It’s now available on all platforms.

Release thirty-two on Manjumasi presents a variety of reinterpretations of last year’s vinyl release Instant Transmission, from label founder atish together with Vridian.

A broad selection of remixers showcases the variety of sounds and styles that find a home in atish’s sets and in the Manjumasi label catalog. First up, Map.ache offers a groove-driven smooth and floaty remix of Touch & Go, well balanced with intricate details.

Next up, Mihai Popoviciu & Markus Homm do what they do best, putting some dance floor heat on Instant Transmission with a super-sturdy bassline groove and dubby textures floating over the mix.

Fast-rising Japanese producer boys be kko turns in two melodic mixes,with the Sanya Mix featuring a ripping unique synth lead, and the Yanagi Edit focusing on the deeper side of the groove and textures. iO Mulen takes things in a unique direction with a breakbeat-infused remix that mixes throwback elements with edgy modern sound design.

Finally, Indian producer Kohra wraps up the package with a late night interpretation, dark and dub-infused with molten metallic textures.

Butch is probably a name that rings a bell if you have even a slight interest in house and techno. A DJ and producer with Turkish roots who hails from Mainz and now calls Ibiza and Dubai home. As a winner of various prestigious awards in the “Best Producer” category, Butch is a regular performer at some of the industry’s most renowned clubs and events, such as Circoloco and Robert Johnson. He has collaborated with electronic music royalty from Ricardo Villalobos and Maceo Plex up to Frank Wiedemann and Keinemusic and released on prestigious labels, including Radio Slave’s Rekids, Dixon’s Innervisions, Solomun’s Diynamic, Axel Boman’s Studio Barnhus, Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz, Gerd Janson’s Running Back, Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, Loco Dice’s Desolat, Dubfire’s SCI+TEC, and Sven Väth’s Cocoon, among others. However, Butch’s influence on the scene goes beyond a swanky but still impressive list of name-dropping collabs and labels.
