Following up on a standout inaugural EP by Alpha Tracks, KI/KI’s slash imprint now presents a mighty 8-track compilation of propulsive trance, split over two equally potent parts. The compilation contains a selection of dancefloor favourites curated by KI/KI herself that have been intensively road tested during her gigs in the past year.
 
Opening slash002, Copenhagen’s Peachlyfe delivers a deviously ambient interlude. Rising into a transcendent crux, 'Sane & Awake’ flirts with breakbeat’s signature percussive style, teasing a drop, before taking a U-turn, panning out into evermore blissful peaks. Full of bounce, DJ Lucid brings the build with ‘Entry Plug’, drawing together dramatic strings and a pounding kick drum, while Narciss expertly splices up a haunting vocal fragment on ‘Once More With Feeling.’ Geared towards festival stages – huge crowds and height-of-the-night summer climaxes – the record takes its cues from the hedonism of the 1990s, delivering a powerful punch that's anything but backward facing. DJ Car Keys, part of Dutch-pop sensation Goldband, makes a special appearance in his debut as a solo producer. Closing the B-side, ’Spinning’ is a 155-bpm belter, where a looped hit-hat collides with psychedelic spoken word passages.
 
slash003 turns more introspective, recalling darkened, brooding club basements. Launching off, DJ Hyperdrive more than lives up to his namesake. ’Starburst’ rockets at light speed, its space-age momentum conjuring a retrofuturist fantasy. Amour Noir’s ’Sunday Morning’ is a love letter to dance floors, its choral-style vocal and gliding synth alluding to the reverence of liturgical music. Tbilisi’s Bassiani resident Newa transposes a wiggy acid bassline onto a steely techno pulse, then for ‘Astral Recall’ (one of KI/KI’s most played songs of 2022) Arman John partners a driving beat with a lucid melody, crafting a hybrid flex that melds genres and moods seamlessly. Plunging into darkness before emerging into sunlit euphoria, slash003 channels a vital feature of every masterful DJ set – the emotional journey of contrasting styles and atmospheres, set in motion by adrenaline-fuelled beats.

Spanish producer Vilchezz debuts on slash with one of KI/KI's longest awaited dancefloor hits to date. The title track Camelo's is doing rounds in her DJ sets for a couple of years and is easily the highlight of many gigs, finally the day is now there to present it on her own slash label.

It all started just with a Soundcloud demo a year ago when Fasta Danza crew member Vilchezz shared some of his new music with KI/KI. Now residing in Budapest, his new EP also marks a significant change in styles for Vilchezz, with his new works leaning more towards energetic, trance tinged hard grooves. And that's exactly the sweet spot where he meets KI/KI and her slash imprint. After playing the Camelo's demo inside-out around the world a full release is now finally formed. A full pack backed with another original Eskorbuto — which feels like a future classic uplifting trance drifter — and three remixes another chapter on slash is there.

For the remixes KI/KI and Vilchezz invited Oslo based trance producer and UTE.REC label co-owner Filip Storsveen aka Oprofessionell. He turns Camelo's into a magnificent introvert eyes closed club weapon. Where Glasgow's Animal Farm resident AISHA comes in fierce with a powerful early 00's twist combined with an impeccable psy drive. And to finalize the pack, fast rising star CAIVA reworked Eskorbuto by adding her own vocals to the original and by doing so she adds an impressive, emotive festival banger to a well rounded set of modern trance gems.

Recent years have seen Paris-based artist DJ Physical moving from strength to strength through releases on the likes of Molekül, Shall Not Fade, Raw, 1Ø PILLS
MATE and more. Now DJ Physical marks the beginning of a new chapter in his career with the launch of his own imprint, Young Savage. The label will be dedicated to his own music and collaborations, allowing total artistic freedom and to further
develop his own artistic direction, both sonically and visually.
The first single on the new imprint ‘I Got A Crush On U’ perfectly sets the tone for

what’s to come as DJ Physical offers up a high octane excursion through gritty, off-kilter drums, hypnotic strings, twitchy synth lines, rave-tinged piano melodies and a heavy dose of driving low-end via a winding arpeggio bass hook.

Inspired by the acid and trance of the 90s and 00s, Lina not only borrows key elements of the rave sound but also reinterprets them, giving them a fresh look and a modern sensibility. Her music combines sensuality and drama expressed in pads and leads with the fighting character of the 303 acid synth, which completely reflects her persona - strong, but gentle.

In a short time, Supergloss has not only found her audience but also become a significant figure in the European electronic scene. She skillfully balances between festival and club sounds, without limiting her creative potential to genres.

After hundreds of gigs, nights of digging and endless hours of attending raves - these factors led her to the idea of creating her own multi-genre label X-IZE, inspired by the rave culture of the ’90s. Rather than preserving it as-is, the label transforms cultural memory through the lens of the present.

X-IZE releases audiovisual content across genres and formats, capturing both personal and collective experiences of unity - then and now.
