Mosaic Music Education was founded by composer and woodwind teacher Catherine Evison, and aims to address the needs of teachers working in whole-class instrumental settings. 

Mosaic Music Education is committed to producing high-quality music and educational resources for use in instrumental teaching. MMP focuses specifically on music and resources to support whole-class instrumental teaching, and resources that aid the general musicianship skills in the context of learning an instrument. Used either in conjunction with MMP’s detailed lesson plans, or as individual activities, MMP’s resources are specifically designed for large, mixed ability groups and provide multiple parts for the purposes of differentiation. 

The resources are specifically designed to incorporate a mixture of singing, playing, exercises and games to promote good musicianship and instrumental technique, and use multi-function activities which are ideal for getting the most out of short lessons. Using a range of musical styles, the resources allow the opportunity to educate children about music from around the globe; its history and structure, and to encourage creativity through structured improvisation and composition activities giving a more well-rounded instrumental education. The opportunity for children to access these resources at home, aims to encourage practice at home and parental support and involvement in instrumental learning.

As a teaching qualification is not necessarily a pre-requisite for employment in UK instrumental teaching, MME also aims to support new and inexperienced teachers in the delivery of its whole-class instrumental programmes through its teachers’ guides and eventually through training programmes.

In June 2014 Mosaic Music Education won the Deutsche Bank Award for Creative Enterprises in Music, Acting and Technical Theatre at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and later in the year was awarded a place on the Guildhall Creative Entrepreneurs Scheme in partnership with Cause4. My name is Liam and i'm an amateur producer with no credentials but a huge passion to learn and for the art of music. Currently living in Grimsby, a dead end town with very little opportunity for creativity. A passionate music scene lives throughout the town it's just finding that escape which is the tough part but self belief will get you somewhere in the end... Am i right?
