2022 is here, and Sangoma Records starts the new year with this special release. Superluminal (Kabayun & Yasmin) are back with their second EP on Sangoma Records. A common theme in science fiction deals with contact between humanity and life from other star systems, often enabled by spaceships that can travel at superluminal speeds. Here on earth, music is something that has the power to transcend cultural and linguistic differences and bring people from all walks of life together in a shared experience. This EP builds on this theme of bridging the divide between people through music and through the trance dance experience. Featuring two solo tracks as well as collaborations with Argonik, Daksinamurti & Eritas, this EP aims to take the listener on a journey towards a future that recognizes our shared humanity, towards a world-based on compassion and rationality.

We're proud to finally share our brand-new compilation '2nd Grade', the follow-up to our debut release 'Early Intervention'.

With this compilation of 10 tracks we want to depict the current state of our still young label and the development we went through during the last 3 years. After the Early Intervention we're now situated in 2nd Grade, where we learn, grow up and build our label's identity. What started as a small group of friends and music enthusiasts grew to a lovely little family of artists that helps and support each other on their life paths.

Again, we combined tracks of well-established artist friends with some of the creations of our own label residents, including several collaboration tracks. After about 2 years of compiling this one, we're happy to share it with the world!

Superluminal is the project of Kabayun and his partner, muse, and wife Yasmin. Those who know them together are aware of how much of a symbiosis they are in various ways. She doing art to his music and vice versa - constantly inspiring each other. Now they have taken the next level by making music together! Superluminal is the next logical step and the result of both their energies and their love for each other as well as for psychedelic culture. With pumping basslines and twisted soundscapes, it’s the perfect sound to kick up some dust and shake your chakras! 

Faster-than-light (also superluminal or FTL) communication and travel are the conjectural propagation of information or matter faster than the speed of light.

The new project between Kabayun (Sangoma Records) and Yasmin celebrates the potential for psychedelic trance music to raise our collective consciousness to new heights. Just like their relationship, this project was born on the dancefloor, and is ingrained with the Goa spirit.
