The prompt for the round was to remix one of the new tracks featured in Sonic Origins, and since I already remixed a grand majority of them, I decided to go with this one to round out the set.

Sonic Mania | Chemical Plant Zone Act II (YM2612)

I originally had planned to use the Still D.R.E. waanstrumental that I created back in like January for the credits (in place of The Dream I Had Last Night), but unfortunately none of WL4's presets are up to snuff when it comes to filling in for Twisted's piano preset and meshing properly with the other instruments. It WAS built around the piano, after all.

Funnily. this waarangement I actually started working on WAAAAAY long ago, to the point where I can't even remember how long it's been-- maybe even a year. But anyway. I got my grubby mittens on the Super Star .spc music files and exported the Meta Knight Defeated tune to a .mid. 
THEN, I spent however long recreating every individual channel by hand, using the .mid as a guideline. This speeds up the process but NOT at the expense of feeling like I cheated. 
Plus, because I only used a reference, I can actually upload the sequence to VGMusic (http://www.vgmusic.com/new-files/Setting_Sun.mid). Hoo'ay!
