EATBRAIN gain another slick addition to the collective, with the latest release landing from relatively fresh Antwerp-based duo,
HYPOXIA (Titan Records // DnB Arena). Members Athys and Syntopia craft a brand of Tech and Neuro DnB with a bleak
aesthetic influenced by the more sinister areas of Psychology. The ‘ANOVA’ EP takes its name from the Analysis Of Variance
statistical method, with the change here being the sinister journey into an internal void during the inception of its components.

The opening track ‘SUSPICIOUS MINDS’, leads the EP with beguiling morose pads punctuated by chunky half-step percussion,
quickly giving way to the track’s stripped-down rolling drop. Laced with tight growling synths, it never loses its undertone of sinister
nostalgia - with a breakdown akin to a descent into frightened eyes, building back into the drop with a rapid widening of pupils.

The moment EATBRAIN followers have been eagerly anticipating for a year has arrived, with BILLAIN landing in full force in the form of his ‘Colonize’ EP. A true master of Neurofunk; these 4 tracks demonstrate the full might and depth of Billain’s exquisite production ability. Expanding upon the sprawling Sci-Fi landscape that has its origins in the highly acclaimed ‘Colossus’ EP on Bad Taste Recordings, the ‘Colonize’ EP takes things to an entirely new level. 
Incredible visual artwork from Marvel artist Enis Čišić and resident Eatbrain designer László Tringli, is threaded through with the continuation of the operatic space narrative tying the tracks together into a concept as epic as music itself.

Title track ‘COLONIZE’ lures listeners into Billain’s otherworldly realm with 2 perfectly balanced sweeping chords, instantly transporting them to a faraway planet. Breaking the calm, an unmistakable Billain bassline erupts, before breaking down into a deliciously dynamic and scattered build-up injected with pure nervous anticipation. The Neuro assault that follows is as devastating as it is immaculately produced.

Lifestyle Music bring you their latest release – something special from the label’s remix competition winner Sensus. Sensus has been signed as an artist to the label, and demonstrates his skills on his new Night Light release. The producer is a Toronto native, drawing on all that the city has to offer. Starting from a minimalist viewpoint, he wraps his influences into his sound, delivering a fresh and new approach. After he turned in his remix of Lockjaw’s hit Idol, the label were keen to snap him up for his own music. Take a trip into the Night Light release from Sensus.

First up is the huge Sirocco, which grabs you right from the ominous intro, synths leading you in and leading the way. The beat drops in next, taking things down a decidedly dark direction, as Sensus adds in touches of warped bass and speeding electronics. You can tell straight away that this is going to be quite a release, as creepy, cinematic sounds mark out Sirocco as a tune to watch.
The title cut moves us into new territory, with the track building up speed, as Sensus then drops things down hard. Pulsating beats are matched to some terrifying bass and switching, hypnotic effects. Sensus uses all of the track to spin his tale, as he takes us through the urban environment in which he operates. 
Serious and seriously good, this one is a must-have.

Closing things out is Consistent, a funky, low end-fuelled monster, which will have those who like things a little harder reaching for the rewind. Lots of marching basslines and motorised samples, this one takes things firmly into the future.

Once again Lifestyle Music power their way through another quality release, this time bringing Sensus into view. Make sure you grab a hold of the tracks on LFS051, this is simply good good music.
