Colin de la Plante, better known by his stage name The Mole, is an electronic music artist who has consistently delivered multifaceted gems since his emergence in 2005. Unlike many in the music industry, his work does not cater to trends and fads, but instead is guided by his own, often esoteric style. His patient and deep tracks immerse listeners in weird and wonderful places, bridging house, ambient, and everything in between - as is befitting of a man who's released music for the likes of Ostgut Ton, Perlon, Kompakt, Wagon Repair, Circus Company and more.

While The Mole has always surprised his fans with his work, his latest LP, "The River Widens," feels like a significant departure, with a series of tracks that rarely topple the four minute mark. Now back in his native Canada after a lengthy stay in Berlin, we certainly caught the man at an interesting - and reflective - juncture in his career. A meeting of minds, muscles, and music: we're pleased to put on an absolutely no-nonsense lineup of serious techno-heads. Coming up on midwestern musical sensibilities,  we have two serious students of the history and politic of dance music, enthusiasts of gritty machine-funk, hands-on gear-turners in their respective scenes, and good friends of many years. It's a pleasure to present a longer form exploration of techno's transistor rhythm and semiconductor soul from these two: Detroit's Miguel Cisne and Bounce House resident Nail Salon. 

Miguel is dedicated to the craft, technology, lifestyle, and working culture of techno. Living, working, and playing in Detroit, he is involved in all facets of the groundwork of techno, from heady, serious, DJing to event production. He is out and about working sound in Detroit, notably recently helping speaker designer and workshop Bing Audio deploy the pristine, powerful, point-source stacks at events like Return To The Source. Part of the Moods collective, Miguel has a mind for the expansive sensibilities beyond any given selector's dancefloor lay-ups. Never afraid to roll up a Carhartt-clad sleeve and get involved, we've even had Miggy hop onto our lighting controller during a foggy moment years ago. It's a pleasure to welcome the musical school of Detroit!

You know Nail Salon by now to keep this note brief, but we're excited to have a longer window for Kris to work his magic. Hungry for a wide range of music, constantly exploring, studying, and learning, Nail Salon's DJ flow is informed by a heady focus, sincere dedication to the craft, and frothing up many of Philly's rambunctious dancefloors both solo and as part of bellicose trio Bass Down Low, including a recent Halloween-adjacent appearance at burgeoning pop-up party High Beam.

ON THEIR RETURN TO DESOLAT BARCELONA BASED MUSICIANS PULSHAR DELIVER A DELICIOUSLY DEEP AND TRIPPY EP

Following on from 2010’s critically acclaimed album ‘Inside’, Spanish duo Sergio S Vidal and Pablo Bolívar aka Pulshar return to Desolat with the ‘Different Drum EP’, and all four tracks showcase the deeply hypnotic yet richly soulful sounds which the duo are synonymous with.

Opener ‘Wasting Time’ is a collaboration with Desolat label head Loco Dice. The track, which was creating during a jam session between these friends, is a deep and twisted journey, with ocean-deep sub-bass, and features Loco Dice’s own distorted vocals which echo in and out of the music.

On ‘So Tired’, Pulshar have expertly crafted a captivating rich soundscape packed full of warm textures and atmospheres. ‘Different Drum’ is a similarly engaging and uplifting track complete with soaring synths and crisp drums.

The 12” is rounded up by the standout ‘She’s Got A Ticket’, with its infectious groove, rich sounds and contagious vocal layered over its psychedelic rhythm.
