Norwegian DJ and producer Mikkas (aka Djuma Soundsystem) saddles up with Danish DJ and producer Emok to deliver two tracks which unite disparate styles in a cohesive journey of atypical sound in Sagas of Iziki | Chapter 2.

Smashing staccato percussion together with artful drums and vocals that wouldn’t be out of place at a fireside chant, Osuga is a dancing contradiction.

The mysterious Hyenah adds a downright predatory bassline to the original cut, lending Osuga (@hyenahmusic Remix) a persistently harder edge.

No stranger to the underground, Kellerkind takes it out of the basement and into the streets, warming up his remix of Osuga (@kellerkind Remix) with his hallmark dramatic builds and a roaring finale.

Riding the harder edge of tribal electro, deep distorted bass lines marry up with sparkling polyrhythmic samples and unhinged tribal vocals in the EP’s second cut, Macai.

You’ll barely have time to come up for air before Aurka delivers his rendition of Macai (@aurkamusic Remix). Made for a steady 3AM dancefloor, this already heavy track cuts deep with its rowdy vibes.

London-based John Monkman is the founder of Beesemyer Music but also serves up his rich sounds on Kompakt, Last Night On Earth and Drumcode. He works across multiple styles and as much as making music for the club, he also cooks up richly atmospheric and emotive music. 

He has worked with Pete Tong, Bryan Ferry and Nile Rodgers and when on tour, he plays live in the world's best venues. First up is the immediately arresting 'Perception' with its flashes of synth, whirring drones and textured drums. Spoken words bring a sense of paranoia as twitchy effects, icy percussion and swinging drums all work you into a frenzy. Monkman took inspiration from a Timothy Leary interview for the record envisioning “a phrase repeating with a synthesizer response, in essence a conversation between man & machine”. 

Second cut 'Impulse' is a more groove-driven tune with kicks that rock back and forth under slapping hits. The synth designs are futuristic and the whole vibe is one of intergalactic exploration of the unknown. Both of these hugely accomplished tracks will bring a scene of cinematic drama to any set.

Following a first contribution to the label's 2020-issued "A Tribe Called Kotori - Chapter 5", Estonian producer Taavi Tuisk returns to A Tribe Called Kotori with his debut solo effort, "Bialllayl". Paving the way towards sense-awakening trance and tribal-friendly euphoria, the primitive drums motif'd lead-track transports us to a loopin' and whirlin' nightly ritual type of mental scenario. Bristling with a mix of widely sourced field-recordings and future-proof envelopes bridging the gap between exotica-infused mystique and proper muscular, EBM-laced bass work, the track steadily evolves into a powerful slice of hypnotic desert electro, adorned with suitably uplifting Arabic vocals and processed oud strings.

Gravitating a more martial, aggressive kind of headspace, "Ei Joo" reels off sustained onslaughts of sharp-edged synthlines, rattling snares and near-stealth sub bass alongside the weirdly raucous voice that hammers out each chorus end like a menacing God's voice-over. Living up to its name, the EP's closer "Mumbai Express" fast-forwards into the pulsating heart of Indian folk-infused trance territories without ever looking back. Dishing out a feverish melange of pressurized kicks, paced-up locomotive swing and Bollywood-esque banjo flights, Tuisk paints the sky all shades of Holi colours. Unmoor yourself from the daily hassle and ride that frenzied iron horse up until the lights have gone off for good.

Monkey Brothers - The Way Back (Kotelett & Zadak Remix)

Betoko & Paul Sawyer return to ICONYC with the remix edition of ''I'll Be Here' which also featured heavily as the title song of the first ICONYC TV season. The duo's last outings on the label were received to high acclaim – with big support from the big player's brigade at the time. With their long-awaited return we get a slice of spring vibes with 4 outstanding reworks of their classic anthem. Betoko kicks things off nicely with his interpretation, the melancholic moodiness of his rework shines through as we meander effortlessly through 80's inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and vocal sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. 

The first remix comes courtesy of Blaktone, famed for their intricate and refined productions on labels such as Selador, Sincopat and Mango Alley to name a few. The duo delivers a great take on 'I'll be Here'. Their rework creates tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth techno edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a deep glow, creating an air of sophistication. 

Next up we welcome Berlin based Tony Casanova for his debut on the label. Tony who is known for his polished and driven sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – Tony's touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. 

Last but not least we have a remix courtesy of MXV who returns to the label for the second time. The UK based producer delivers a wonderful floating deep mix with infectious chords, intense drums and smooth breakdown. It's all about the groove, silky house vibes and the despondent beats that are working their magic around MXV's wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible rhythm while clever chords take the mind on a trip. A truly beautiful cultivated rework. 

The remix edition of Betoko & Paul Sawyer's 'I'll Be Here' manages to deliver a message of sustained musical relevance in emphatic fashion to warm the soul. Not to be missed! 'I'll Be Here' sees a worldwide release on April 27th, 2020 via all well-known digital content providers. Not to be missed!

Los Suruba and their record label Nazca Records present their eighteenth release called ‘Alpha’ EP produced by Roberto Carlos, better known as Thimble. From Spain, he will captivate every listener with this release that comes out throughout three fantastic tracks that intrigue from the first minute.

NAZCA Records was born after internalising the connection between the advanced world of the Viracochas, beings from other planets and the archaic world of the Nazcas, lovers of music, dance and art in general.

This new EP consists of three songs. The first one, 'War Pipes' combines a futuristic and mechanical beat with a cool vocal that sound like out of this world.
'Aletella' climaxes in powerful groove caressed by a synth melody and an arpeggio that make each silhouette stand out on the dance floor. Finally,
'Divided' is a broken beat track that catches you in this futuristic combo. The electronic synths keep your feet on the ground while the intensity grows allowing the arpeggios and sequences to merge with your senses letting the vocals direct your thoughts.
