Pretty much all of us know the movie “Inception”, right? Habischman wanted to create a song following this concept so when he bumped into Brydon Hulse from Skymachine they got into the studio and magic happened.
A Dream Within A Dream was recorded in London with a HA-872 microphone and mixed with an old analog desk, giving this characteristic sound to the song, after a 1-hour jam between Habischman and Brydon. Isn’t this magic?
Remixing this gem, Edu Imbernon in an unexpected journey to the 80’s sounds blended with flying melodies and a huge breakdown.
Aera is the second name for remixing. He loves the idea of dreams within dreams. Actually the idea of the main synth sound came to his mind one morning while waking up. It was only a matter of recording it!
Closing the release, a special 4/4 edit of the original for the late-night sounds lovers.

A wonderful view opened to my gaze while I was sitting on a small cosy balcony – the powerful Apennine mountains in the distance – their peaks were caressed by delicate velvet clouds. This view brought something beautiful yet at the same time something disturbing that was limiting my sight of them.

Suddenly I saw a flock of migratory birds flying south and their sudden presence gave me a feeling of joy. I was happy for them, because despite the difficulty of the flight they are free, and their sight is not blocked.

Dust off a wine glass or three; today we raise a toast to one of the most dedicated house music institutions — Smallville Records. Ten years is a ruddy good time in this part of town, and establishing such a loveable brand takes some doing. Yet, with misty-eyed house at its core, the record store-cum-label has confidently strutted towards the big ten. To celebrate, the Hamburg fam are dispensing the third and fourth part of the Ways Series — entitled Smallville Ways — with a two four-track 12" and an 11-track CD. 

Naturally, the roll-call reels off like a FIFA dream team equivalent: STL, Christopher Rau, Moomin, L'Amour Fou (Move D with Benoit Bouquin (BB) and Marco Wollenberg), Smallpeople, Juniper, Jacques Bon, Lawrence, Rvds & Rau, and Tilman Tausendfreund.

Kornél Kovács' offering carves the deepest incision though. Remodelling a D'Angelo Rhodes piano sample into a diet version of itself, "Space Jam" is as airy and uncluttered as we've come to expect. Here's to another decade then, ayy.

Born in Lebanon and of Armenian origin, Isabel Bayrakdarian emigrated to Canada as a teenager. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1997. A soprano singer, she won first prize in the Operalia international competition in 2000 and embarked on a career in opera, performing in the most prestigious venues1. In 2002, she sang the song Evenstar for the soundtrack of the film Le Seigneur des anneaux: Les Deux Tours. This week Evelynka releases her next EP titled „Pure Gold“ on Wildfang Music. You can get the collection with Releases by Jean Vayat and Philip Chedid on Beatport. We talked with Los Angeles based producer about the release.

trndmsk: How long did it take you to produce the tracks?

Evelynka: I tend to produce a few versions of each track – so from the point of conception to reaching the finish line, it can take a few weeks to a few months. It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact amount of time it takes to finish one track because I tend to bounce around multiple projects at one time, but I would say with these particular tracks, it took about four to five months to finalize. What a start it has been to the new year. The stars are aligning and we are ready to spread positive vibes all over the world with music. And what better way to start a new year than with a new face? That is why we are more than excited to welcome Eric Rose to the Heinz Music family. Based in Kyiv, Eric has made a name for himself with his exquisite DJ sets and genre bending productions. Now he is ready for his Heinz Music debut with "Collar EP".

"Collar" is a playful tune with an earnest undertone. Heavy synths deliver an intense vibe, broken up by a beautiful vocal in the break before Eric launches the listener into a dreamlike melodic journey. "Eclipse" is a mesmerizing composition of groovy percussions and sharp synths swirling towards the break where melancholic strings work as a prelude to the percussive drop.

Last but not least, "Lost Warrior" ends the EP with a powerful attitude, packed to the brim with fierceness. Again the interplay between synths and strings deliver a magnificent atmosphere. Tight percussions and a driving bassline lead the way as we reminisce about dark dance floors and sweaty basements. Enjoy our new Heinz Music!
