I’ve composed that track in the spring of 2020, in the heat of the pandemic. At the time, my days consisted of daily hikes on the mountain and countless hours in the studio, constantly learning and growing as an artist, with almost no distractions. It allowed me to be more patient with the music writing process, and embrace its journey. I’m very pleased with how the song came to be and it’s been one of my go-to mid groover tracks in most of my sets. I truly hope it will resonate with you as much as it does with me.

An artist with over 10 years experience in the world of electronic music, Paul Deep has been a stalwart of the progressive house scene. A regular on the likes of Clubsonica, Sound Avenue and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, supported by Guy J, Nick Warren and Lee Burridge, the Argentinean artist hit the Proton Music headlines in September 2022 with his beautifully developed "Orchid" EP. Now returning to the label with another original offering, "Odyssey" is a typically deep and contemplative affair with a cavernous sub-bass groove sitting below a rippling percussive stream. Wending its way across an 8-minute journey, myriad textures and effects pave the way for a subtle melodic motif to evolve easily, complemented by a beautiful piano and keys sequence at the breakdown redolent in evocative splendour. Returning to the deep rhythmic roots of earlier phases in the second half, "Odyssey" is another majestic Paul Deep musical sculpture.

An artist requiring no introduction to the Proton Music faithful with such memorable releases as "Little Friend", "River Pond" and "Station", Dmitry Molosh is an artist who has continued to ride the crest of a production wave for over 15-years and some 650 credits. Consequently, the Belarusian has seen his music feature on some of underground dance's most esteemed labels including Replug, Sudbeat, Plattenbank and his own Proportion. Now returning to remix on Proton for the first time since 2020, the Dmitry Molosh interpretation is a spellbinding affair that continues the strong rhythmic flair of "Odyssey" before developing a new bassline groove and melodic counterpoint. Further extending the themes laid out in Paul Deep's original, Dmitry's skill is to create a scintillating progressive gem that sparkles at a sunlit breakdown with evocative melodic passion. Dropping back into the generous percussive backdrop in the second half, the Dmitry Molosh remix is a joy to behold.

A second remix sees, Zankee Gulati return to the Proton fold. A regular on Particles, not least through his 2018 "Breathe" EP, the Sydney-based star has found himself at the forefront of the modern progressive house scene with a string of releases on a host of elite labels that include the likes of Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, John Digweed's Bedrock and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile / Meanwhile Horizons. Indeed, it was at the annual Amsterdam Dance Event festival in October 2023 that saw the Australian perform at the duo's sold-out Meanwhile showcase. As comfortable standing behind the decks as he is sitting in the studio, a single remix of Rick Pier O'Neil's "Imperial" in late 2022 is now joined by a second as Zankee Gulati transforms "Odyssey" into a broody rhythmic gem. Developing easily over its duration, echoes of the original float through its 8-minutes with familiar melodic refrains and atmospheric pads. Full of additional production material, complex textures, white-noise effect and muted arpeggio, they combine to create a deliciously rich and full-flavoured sound that resonates fully in the second half.

Creating a magical "Odyssey", Paul Deep is taken on a voyage of discovery with additional remixes from Dmitry Molosh and Zankee Gulati.

'Paul Angelo and Don Argento return to Tash's Movement Recordings with a new EP entitled 'Dear Cave'. Hailing from Cyprus, the much loved duo have become a core part of the Greek imprint since making their debut in 2017 with a contribution to the label's 'Technical Progress' Vol. 7 collection. Paul and Don have since gone on to appear an additional four times while also finding a home on Beat Boutique, Dopamine Music, Sound Avenue and Soundteller Records. Now following a stunning remix of Michael and Levan and Stiven Rivic's 'Rumors' the duo lands back on Movement with a three track artist showcase.

Beginning with the title track 'Dear Cave' Paul and Don continue to explore the dark progressive minded ethos which has made them such in demand artists. Energetic and fluid, punchy beats and perfectly contoured bass unite for a robust low end. Dramatic pulses and piercing stabs add mightily to the rhythmic core as layers of percussion build momentum with each successive loop. Enticing yet mysterious, ghostly atmospheres take the narrative into a tense break, melting down to an arcane rumble before a tasteful build cues a powerful drop.

'Absence' follows suit with a more minimalistic yet equally mystical approach. Acidic rhythms carry the rolling groove while haunting atmopheres sweep across the stereo field. Once again drama and tension are at a premium here, as a timely break and tasteful modulation resets the groove for a chugging finale.

The third and final selection 'Day Walker' finds the duo lightening the mood just a touch to round out the release. It's meaty kick and rolling underbelly provide a perfect balance of warmth and drive. Playful arps layer the commanding groove as astral effects and icy overlays steal the air. The narrative shifts with a second act of broken beats, transferring energy into a short break before a rush of noise sparks a smooth and reflective final act. It caps off a welcome return to Movement Recordings for Paul and Don, a production duo who continue to operate at their creative peak.'
