A while ago, Francesco (Soma Soul) had the chance to visit Canada. He loves to get inspired by cold, rural areas and landscapes. So he  felt like exploring and found that magic place after driving almost 300 kilometers from Banff to Jesper National Park: an amazingly beautiful area. Even though the roads were covered, he got off the car and walked further - and finally was rewarded with a wonderful view of a lake and a waterfall - the Athabasca River!
It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests - and Francesco immediately knew that he wanted to capture this moment and honor it with a hint on one of his next EPs. 
It seems like that spark of inspiration lasted until he was back in Switzerland: “back home, I tweaked my prophet6 buttons and created this moving bassline, layered it with the same sound in the higher key and was really happy with how it sounded as he wanted to (re-)create these acoustics or feelings between the mountains of reverberation”.
When Francesco sent the idea to his musical soulmate Ed Begley, he knew that he would be a perfect fit for this one.

First time Lehar was listening to the original version he felt touched by the lyrics and the beautiful voice of the singer.

Italian duo Undercatt immediately fell in love with the original vocal, inspiring, melancholic, the right vibe they usually like to work with. “We did our best to follow it, creating the right atmosphere, a story that builds up to the climax as a sequence of emotions and then comes back, bringing you back to the original status. We imagine the people listening to this on a car trip wandering around, or as an effective closing track for an emotional dj set."

Fayer’s 16th release will be out next 21st May.

Release Info: 
Dutch prodigy Budakid returns to Exploited for his third mesmerising EP on the label, with two fresh new opuses for your delectation. 

‘The End’ is one of his typically cinematic tracks, reminiscent of ‘90s melodic breakbeat types Hybrid. Hovering, Reese-toned bass looms subtly over intricate, light broken beats and gently enveloping string progressions. Crisp and spacious, the arrangement is honed to perfection. Muted, gated stabs echo the ghost of ‘90s trance in the breakdown, fusing beautifully with the breaks when the beat drops back in. Soft cymbal rides splash across the surface as the elements fuse back together for a restrained crescendo. Perfect for the afterhours or a spot of deep meditation.

‘Linguistic’ sees Budakid in more of a deep house / melodic techno mood. Subtle synth licks waft across the stereo field as live percussion forms a groove and wildlife sounds create a heady atmosphere deep in the distance. A plodding  groovy bassline drives its way into the foreground, while minimialist layers of electronics build the mood. The brain-twisting breakdown makes more great use of noise gating as a dizzying lead soars and pulses. It’s a great piece of work that centres more on mood and texture than melody, and in doing so recalls classic progressive house sounds.

The melody is warm and uplifting combined with metallic parts, which guide you through the whole song. The basic theme has it’s peak in a reduced break full of magic. D-Nox & Beckers delivered a trembling remix which is remarkable from the first bar. It is bringing the summer nights back into our clubs. The B-Side is “Nobility of Time“ which leads into a shaky production with a big soundscape in the back and decent voice progression.
