Cocoon Recordings welcomes Pele & Shawnecy for his Cocoon 12" debut. Without any doubt the Rosenheim resident is one of the fastest rising names in Germany. The bavarian tech-house-hero has built up an impressive reputation over the last two years. His driving and testosterone loaded productions and remixes can be found in many top notch dj-sets and charts. Pele is a master of kicking tech-house and his style of incorporating chords and vocals create real peaktime highlights. There is no escape when the sound of Pele kicks in on your PA system!

 

SHAWNECY native Persian, who shows musical fully controversial direction. Michael Jackson's hip, he sings and dances for various chart and show acts, and also working as a choreographer and dancer. Both together started to produce music end of 2010 when Shawnecy moved from FFM to Rosenheim.

 

Their first 12" for Cocoon Recordings is no exception here. With "Can't Wait" they deliver the next peaktime highlight just in time for this years summer season start. Merging house and techno this one should make fans of Harvey McKay, Santos and Guy Gerber happy which makes it a perfect release for us. The Flipside "Can't Leave" slows down a bit and looks more at the deeper side. While "Can't Wait" is a proper peaktime monster "Can't Leave" should work out great on the next afterhour and keeps the party going and going. The right sound to welcome the sun after a hot night... change your sneakers for flipflops and check your mirrorshades and let's start dancing to the beat and bassline of "Can't Wait".

 

The digital bonus track "You And Me" seems to be a dub version of "Can't Leave" at first glance. However the more you hear it to more it starts to progress into an unique and very hypnotic track. One of these tunes that don't let you leave the floor and you wish it would go on and on forever. "You And Me" would be a perfect track to make it into a locked groove at the end of your vinyl... well, if it wouldn't be digi only ;)

Release thirty-two on Manjumasi presents a variety of reinterpretations of last year’s vinyl release Instant Transmission, from label founder atish together with Vridian.

A broad selection of remixers showcases the variety of sounds and styles that find a home in atish’s sets and in the Manjumasi label catalog. First up, Map.ache offers a groove-driven smooth and floaty remix of Touch & Go, well balanced with intricate details.

Next up, Mihai Popoviciu & Markus Homm do what they do best, putting some dance floor heat on Instant Transmission with a super-sturdy bassline groove and dubby textures floating over the mix.

Fast-rising Japanese producer boys be kko turns in two melodic mixes,with the Sanya Mix featuring a ripping unique synth lead, and the Yanagi Edit focusing on the deeper side of the groove and textures. iO Mulen takes things in a unique direction with a breakbeat-infused remix that mixes throwback elements with edgy modern sound design.

Finally, Indian producer Kohra wraps up the package with a late night interpretation, dark and dub-infused with molten metallic textures.

Markus Homm (@markushomm) has already clocked up a seriously impressive run of releases over the last decade, and his star seems set to continue to rise. Born in Romania, and now living in Nurenberg, Homm is widely renowned for his perfectly crafted tech house bombs, released on labels such as Highgrade, Bondage and Bedrock. His first appearance on Poker Flat Recordings sees the acclaimed DJ producer in fine form - three tracks of jacking, effective house music.

'Don’t Let Go' showcases Homm’s grip on tension and release - a thick, deep groove underpinned by a luscious bassline and emotional pads, and propelled forward by tight drum programming and dubby percussion.

'Dance With Me' is a little tougher - fully nailing its colors to the dancefloor with a funky tech workout.

'Feel It' completes the trio - this time a stripped down, pure groove for the sweaty dancers - jacking, raw and highly uplifting.

So, if we convey the impression that we are into Swiss output, yeah, you're right. Marco Berto and Aston Martinez dipping into Gorge & SKAIs Re:Fresh Your Mind imprint with the Lightfire EP (RYM022). Two originals coming punctual to the minute like a Swiss watch for your next open air session: As the name implies, 'Lightfire' has such an atmospheric break midmost, that hands in the air should be preprogrammed. The second one‚ 'Ghoster', is a deep and solid dancefloor-filler who must not be missed in your record box. But that's not all: We proudly say Grüezi to one of our favourite artists, Dario D'Attis. His remix of 'Lightfire' is the one that torching the club. Cross my heart!
