Exclusive WhoMadeWho 'I Don't Know (Stereocalypse Remix)'

Set off by a simple and consistent bassline, a tangible drum beat, we are lured into the 7:51 track with a steady grate of percussion followed by a gradual interpolation of electronic application. Complex strata of organic and synthetic sounds emerge fluidly and ascend into a harmonious climax, which with the brief omission of the dominant drum beat, preludes into the first vocal at exactly one minute. A beautiful interchange between instrumental and vocal and Stereocalypse’s dextrous play of diminishing and aggrandizing elements to draw on and draw out the emotions of the original track, are the vim and vigor of this remix. Through a firm and innovative control of tempo and complexity, the remix accentuates the turbulent emotional implications of the track’s lyrics, making it more poignant. WhoMadeWho’s provocative music videos are the icing on the cake to their music, adding the third dimension to their exceptional lyrics and sound. In their remix of I Don’t Know, Stereocalypse’s adds the right elements that bring listeners as close to an audio-visual experience as possible. Hence, there is no wonder that what WhoMadeWho bandmember Tomas Barfod identified as 'a very mellow remix', continues to infiltrate dance floors. Barfod, co-producer of the track had already said it best: 'It somehow turns out to be quite euphoric when played in the club.'

Stereocalypse's remix for WhoMadeWho was released on September 1st, 2017 on Embassy Of Music.

Grundsätzlich haben wir mit Deep Stories viele tolle Clubs und musikalische Weggefährten kennenlernen dürfen. Aus musikalischen Weggefährten sind nicht selten nachhaltige Freundschaften entstanden, welche trotz eines großen Entfernungsunterschieds weiterhin fortbestehen und für die wir sehr dankbar sind. An vielen Orten auf dieser Welt mit offenen Armen empfangen zu werden - mit der Musik als einzige Verbindung - ist einfach überwältigend. Im Rahmen unserer Möglichkeiten unterstützen wir vielfältige Projekte, die in diesen herausfordernden Zeiten nicht nur den Erhalt der Club Szene fördern, sondern auch persönliche Existenzen sichern. 

🗯🗯 Wie ist die Situation bei Euch? 🗯🗯

Tatsächlich entspannt, denn wir sind wohl auf. Derzeit steht unser zweites Release auf Deep Stories in den Startlöchern und der Vorverkauf auf Beatport hat bereits begonnen. Wir blicken gespannt in die Zukunft, auch wenn wir - aufgrund unser beiden Vollzeit Jobs abseits der Musik - gelegentlich mit langsamerem Tempo voranschreiten müssen. Wir hoffen im nächsten Jahr unsere erfolgreiche Veranstaltungsreihe Reihe, als auch unsere Release Partys fortsetzen zu können.

Uns ans Herz gewachsene Clubs in unserer Umgebung bangen um ihre Existenz, streichen teilweise elektronische Musik aus ihrem Programm - wir können es nur auf uns zukommen lassen und abwarten, auf welcher Tanzfläche wir wieder zum Tanz bitten können

Artist Info:
A história de Juliano Bortolato com a música tem seus primeiros episódios no final dos anos 90, quando Anderson Noise, DJ Mau Mau e outros brasileiros começavam sua ascensão. Logo em seguida, o D-Edge inaugurou em Campo Grande e serviu como uma verdadeira escola musical sendo palco de grandes expoentes do House e do Techno internacional, moldando suas influências mais sólidas até hoje.

Constantemente, Juliano fazia ponte-aérea e terrestre até São Paulo, Brasília e Buenos Aires para estar perto dos maiores nomes da cena em grandes festivais. A discotecagem começou a ganhar um espaço mais importante na sua vida e em 2004 ele teve a primeira grande responsabilidade na carreira: uma gig no extinto Tozen, tocando logo após Misstress Barbara. Na sequência também pintou a oportunidade de warm up para o francês Agoria e foi neste momento que a chave virou.

Nos anos seguintes, o paranaense conquistou residência no projeto Check-in, do Club Garage, responsável por trazer Richie Hawtin, Technasia, UMEK e outras estrelas, experiência que lhe garantiu muita maturidade e expandiu sua perspectiva musical. Em 2010, Juliano realizou outro movimento importante: mudou-se para Los Angeles e ficou por lá durante um ano e meio aprimorando seu inglês e estudando produção. Quando voltou ao Brasil, formou-se pela academia de áudio OMID, mas prioridades familiares o impediram de dar continuidade ao trabalho.

Após um gap de 5 anos longe das pistas, ele montou seu home studio e direcionou todo o tempo e foco para a música eletrônica. Em 2019, montou dois novos projetos em Campo Grande para reacender e fomentar a cena underground da cidade, Pizza Loop, dedicado à arte, música e gastronomia, e o MusicLabLive, espaço montado para receber artistas na gravação de sets e livestreams.

Ciente do equilíbrio que a vida precisa ter, Bortolato cuida do corpo, da mente e da saúde em geral igualmente como cuida de cada nova produção ou construção de set. Este ano de pandemia serviu como uma oportunidade para realinhar seus objetivos e traçar novas metas que devem ser cumpridas de agora em diante.
