Welcome to a music selection that takes the listener on a journey to experience a deep, minimalistic and powerful rolling soundscape. Opening a space where downtempo sounds merge with slow tech groove, the 14 tracks are rich in sonic texture and subtlety. Each track has a signature feel and prevailing mood, balancing delicate sonic arrangements with dynamic beats.

The selection was compiled within the MONADA catalog to honor the deepest and dopest tracks with their rumbling and head-nodding melodies. A tribute to the slow dancefloor presenting music to groove, dance & chill.

Acts like Aparde, Cinthie, Ben Böhmer, Kalipo, Powel, Acud, Parra For Cuva, Brigade, Rodion or Bongbeck have released on the label managed by Lasse Winkler aka Acud in the last 10 years. It was never too genre specific. Minimal, Melodic Techno, Downtempo, Indie Dance or Alternative Pop were discussed and celebrated among friends. The ten most successful tracks are now being re-released in one compilation.

Our next release is an EP from Janis Blume, who has already been part on one of our compilations. The artist from Leipzig has been on our radar since his first live set 3 years ago and we are happy to present you an EP with him. 

In addition, remixes are coming by @zuma_dionys from Russia and French born @lopalmusic who appear on down. for the first time. The result are four tracks which all transfer a different mood of downtempo music. We are super happy with the outcome of this release and are in love with the tracks.

Swept away by Zigan Aldi. The ‘Odin’ EP brews with Souq Record’s traditional smoky desert flavours, evoked by Eastern instruments meeting electronica. Yet The EP is quick to cut through expectations and take a resolutely urban, robust direction: moody takeoffs, low rumbling vocals, a guitar’s singing electricity, heady bass-lines, and enveloping darkness. Odin flirts with melodic techno but never fully gives in to its calls, riding the tension between organic and electric.

Zigan Aldi debuts on Souq with this statement EP, infused with his two homes of Eastern Turkey and Berlin. His atmospheric narrative is three part: Odin rises, Heppnar strikes, Desert Hills simmers down. Three smouldering remixes by Iorie, Zuma Dionys and Namito land the story on softer tracks, completing the picture with elegance.
