the main track on this release by @deroos. 

this track came to fruition being an experiment to see reach an authentic sound to reflect myself. this whole track is fully composed, arranged, recorded and written by me and it is a true expression of the artistic side of me. 

i describe this a deep ritualistic and mysterious track, with a forward motion, to takes the listener on a journey. the lyrics and vocals represent an emotion that i find hard to grasp at times, being alone, feeling alone but yet surround by energy & feelings all the time. 

this is my first expression within music, i truly hope you enjoy it.

After first gracing the electronic music world in April with the Here To Stay EP, five-person collective Scenarios return to their imprint next month. This time, founding-members Maga, Sean Doron and Yulia Niko team up on the Starlight EP.

Proceedings are brought underway by Starlight, with the title track manifesting as a piano-fuelled, emotionally-charged piece. It drifts between feelings of elation and hope, building through robust synths and warming key chimes to form seven minutes of club-ready bliss. Omana comes next, as stripped-back elements converge on spiritual-leaning chord solos, leaving us to meander through a stirringly beautiful soundscape. Both tracks embody the inherent values of Scenarios: to create and implement a unique genre of music, one that offers an unparalleled event experience.

Individually, they are known as Emanuel Satie, Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Yulia Niko, each of whom are established performers in their own right. Together, they become Scenarios. As a collective, their beliefs and outlooks are shared - allowing them to truly grow as one whilst maintaining their individuality as independent artists. Their first release was met with widespread industry acclaim, garnering press support from Mixmag, proving that the collective’s combined efforts will be turning heads long into the future.

Born in France and now based in Portugal, Maga’s discography boasts releases on some of dance music's most widely recognised labels, including Flying Circus and Get Physical. Israel’s Sean Doron has found a welcome home on Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion imprint over the years, whilst his Monochrome event series continues to go from strength to strength. Berlin-based Yulia Niko has become a world-renowned artist in recent times, securing a residency at Watergate and producing acclaimed releases for Watergate Records, MOOD, Crosstown Rebels and many more besides.

August will see Monkey Safari put out their long-awaited Body Language Vol. 24. The 18-track affair is a deep dive into their own musical output as well as a testament to their alluring DJ style.

German pair Monkey Safari have become Get Physical mainstays over the years. In 2022, they have released a wealth of teaser tracks from this mix with each one showcasing a different side to their sound. After more than a decade of EPs and LPs on their own Hommage label they are still mining new musical ground and their 2021 album 'Love Will Set U Free' was the latest testament to that. This new mix is a further superb showcase of their signature DJ style and seductive musical output.

The mix is a broody one that takes you into a mesmeric world of classy, musical house. It is packed with originals and remixes from Monkey Safari starting with the alluring bell sounds and vocal cries of 'Ceremony' before moving on through the likes of their spine-tingling afro house remix of Fluida and then a lithe and airy remix of BLOND:ISH. After classy Monkey Safari material like 'Universal Love' and 'W' is a remix of George Morel's classic 'Let's Groove' that updates the tune with a fresh modern edge.

The disco depths of DJ Pierre feat. Chic Loren's reworked classic 'I Feel Love' is followed by standout exclusive remix 'Hausch' which lifts the spirits on a wave of positive synth work, upbeat drums and summery vibes that are sure to get plenty of plays this summer and beyond. A faultless run of recently released singles including 'Kami', 'Light Of Day' and 'Hi & Low' then round out this most exquisite and sensitive selection.

Body Language Vol. 24. is another landmark entry into this long-running and influential DJ mix series.

Malaga native German Brigante has been serving up polished underground sounds on labels like MonaBerry and Dynamic for many years. His meticulous melodies find favour with the likes of Dixon and he runs his own Manitox label. Yamil, meanwhile, is a label regular with a rich and worldly style that often takes him to the top of digital charts as well as some of the world's finest clubs. Their superb new single features the voice and percussion of producer, singer and percussionist G.Zamora, who turns in one of his deepest performances. He sings about an inner journey where the mind is always analysing and trying to take the positives from life which in turn makes the earthly path more transcendental. 'Sigue Tu Camino' Feat. G.Zamora is a deeply hypnotic Afro-house cut with spiritual synths. The organic percussion peppers the supple drums and G.Zamora's vocal casts an almighty spell. It is the sort of life-enriching track that will form the highlight of any set, such is the realness of its emotions. Afro-house music doesn't come more stylish and classy than this new single from the connected label.

HMWL Premiere: German Brigante & Yamil - Sigue Tu Camino Feat. G.Zamora

Brooklyn based artist CISUMMI teamed up with talented Chambord and Jaykill to bring their fresh touch to the original version to kick off the summer.
Before the release of OYA's original version, CISUMMI made ‘OYA' travel into the hands of producers with the intent of creating a remix package. He believed that OYA's magic sonorities could be blended with various music styles to spread various energies via remixes. Chambord and Jaykill were thrilled to cease the challenge and delivered each a remix which makes you immerse into distinctive musical universes and influences. The Paris-based Chambord duo flipped ‘OYA' into an attractive Organic
House track. The guitar, key element of the original version, has been reinvented and is now sharing the spotlights with a pleasant saxophone and piano. The combination of those three instruments transport the listener into a mystical and melodic journey. The percussions sprinkled over the top of the drums bring a real brightness to the groove while the vocals are delivering warm and powerful emotion. Jaykill built his remix version around Nani Odjèladé’s original vocal. All along the track, the listener is carried by a tuneful kalimba also known as the ‘thumb piano of Africa’. Layers of synthesizers paired with a piano are blended perfectly into this ensemble and add a sunny and tenderness impression. The drums are rich and bring a tribal house groove which leaves an everlasting invitation to travel.

HMWL Premiere: Cisummi - OYA (Chambord Remix)

'Conceptually, Lannka's Alhambra E.P. is an auditory transposition of the imagery of Spain's Andalusia community and a self-assured stride on the pursuit of his own organic deep house aesthetic. With folkloric sounds and ancient rhythms taking inspiration from the mosques, minarets, fortresses, and flamenco traditions that signpost the region's rich history of cultural exchange, the four-track E.P. is analogous of Lannka's own musical identity: "Every trip is a transformation where I meet different artists from different cultures — all different people but all connected together somehow in my head." Two such souls make appearances on the release: Satori's title track mix draws from elements of the E.P.'s previous two tracks, "Daraxa" and "Mexuar", to trance-inducing effect, while Derun's remix of "Daraxa" brings a touch of contemporary Istanbul.'

With “Ubuntu”, Shahrokh Dini translates ancient africanism beats into an epic contemporary state-of-the-art – afro house tune.

Ubuntu, which means humanity in Zulu and describes an African philosophy, reflects Shahrokh’s explicit statement in these wrecked political times. The superb re-work by mastermind David Mayer elevates the original to a deep, mystic and lush afrosphere.

Shahrokh Dini left Karlsruhe, while he is even more active than ever in his old and new basecamp Berlin. Not even that he played a lot of nice gigs during summer (Amsterdam, few times on Ibiza, lot of gigs in Berlin, Italy, Corfu, Sardinia), he is also busy in the studio with several releases and remixes (btw.: one for Compost artist Felix Laband).

After the first release of his new activities: “Now We Can Dance” with the strong and lovely vocals by Illinois, here comes the follow-up “Ubuntu” with a lush David Mayer re-work.

For both releases we can announce stunning remixes by Lehar (Diynamic Music, Connaisseur Recordings), David Mayer (formerly Keinemusik, Ouïe), Apoena (Freerange), Omer Tayar (The Gardens of Babylon/Tel Aviv), Patrick Zigon (Biotop, Traumraum), Tooker (Ouïe, Crosstown Rebels), Kovi and others, which will be out on vinyl, too.
