Partial PR: The 51st release on microcastle welcomes Brian Cid back to the label for a brand new EP. The US artist last appeared on the Canadian imprint a year ago with his well received 'Belles Du Shaman' EP. Three diverse and uniquely organic productions along with a remix from Eagles & Butterflies saw the release reach #1 in Beatport's Electronica and Progressive House charts, while placing #4 in their overall Top 100. A subsequent release on Manjumasi, along with a stunning six track EP on his own Extinct Records imprint saw Brian's music played and supported by Adriatique, Lee Burridge, John Digweed, Henry Saiz, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Joris Voorn. His Theory Of Light project with Holmar Filipsson from Thugfucker debuted with two remixes for Cityfox while a solo EP is due on the label later this year. Now making his much anticipated return to microcastle Brian presents his three track artist showcase 'Pluto', alongside a remix from Marvin & Guy.

The lone interpretation of 'Pluto' is provided by Marvin & Guy who are making their first appearance on the label. Formed in 2011 as a DJ and production duo, Italians Alessandro Parlatore and Marcello Giordani aka Marvin & Guy have been releasing their unique take on house music through a variety of international labels, most notably on Aeon, Correspondant, Hivern Discs and Life & Death. 2017 began with a stellar four track EP courtesy of Permanent Vacation with a bevy of new material set to follow later this year. Now making their much anticipated microcastle debut Marvin & Guy take 'Pluto' into tripped out territory with great results. Aptly titled 'Hypnodance Mix', it's a journey played out over twelve magical minutes, as the duo work mesmerizing lines, intriguing vocal samples and deep chugging grooves, resulting in a sure-fire dance floor bomb.

Steyoyoke mainstay BLANCAh returns with a four track EP entitled ‘Osso’. Hypnotic and dreamy, percussive and menacing, ‘Osso’ is bound to hit home in clubs around the world. 

‘Axis’ is a reduced affair featuring a seductively hypnotic bassline and a powerfully marching groove. ‘Axis’ conjures a compellingly unique soundscape, striking a stark contrast between smooth synthwork and a decidedly menacing undertone.

‘Hamato’ sees BLANCAh return to familiar waters. Glittering atmospheres of synths and arps create layers upon layers of dazzling musicality. With ‘Hamato’, BLANCAh showcases her full musical spectrum while also introducing a well-placed note of progressiveness.

‘Talus’ is a percussive shaker built on a blissful layer of atmospheric keys. A hugely beautiful gliding synth artfully amps up the energy and elevates the listener to a state of pure exultation.

‘Ílio’ concludes the 4-tracker with a picture perfect club smasher. A powerful layer of subs and a throbbing kick make sure the track will hit home on the dancefloor, while a magnificent medley of pads and synths seals the deal.

‘Osso’ is at its core an impressive display of a fascinating musical personality, trancy and progressive at times, ethnic and down to earth at others, once again showcasing BLANCAh’s awesome prowess as a producer and songwriter.

@bar25 presents “Das Horn” from the artist duo Umami! The duo, Robert and Sam, first met in a little basement studio in a village not far from the coast of the Baltic Sea. At that time, they played in different bands. Robert was producer and keyboarder of a Depeche Mode influenced electronic live act and Sam was a singer-songwriter and guitarist in several jazz and rock bands. With their urge to write and compose techno songs that dedicate themselves to the repetitiveness and intensity of electronic dance music and still fly with the emotion of real composing, they have much to contribute to the vast electronic music scene with its thousands of creative and talented producers. This EP includes three amazing party symphonies and a remix by the artist cooperation Kreist & Schlepp Geist.
