About the EP-*

The Isha Upanishad (Devanagari: ईशोपनिषद् IAST īśopaniṣad) is one of the shortest Upanishads, embedded as the final chapter (adhyāya) of the Shukla Yajurveda. It is a Mukhya (primary, principal) Upanishad, and is known in two recensions, called Kanva (VSK) and Madhyandina (VSM). The Upanishad is a brief poem, consisting of 17 or 18 verses, depending on the recension.

It is a key scripture of the Vedanta sub-schools, and an influential Śruti to diverse schools of Hinduism. It is the 40th chapter of Yajurveda. The name of the text derives from its incipit, īśā vāsyam, "enveloped by the Lord",or "hidden in the Lord (Self)". The text discusses the Atman (Self) theory of Hinduism, and is referenced by both Dvaita (dualism) and Advaita (non-dualism) sub-schools of Vedanta.

Isha is also the name of my sister and is a sweet dedication to her wonderful being :))

El disco, lanzado a través de la plataforma musical chilena New Latam Beats e ideado en conjunto con una de sus principales artistas, la productora Carla Valenti, está disponible en dos volúmenes, que en total suman 29 tracks inéditos, todos compuestos íntegramente por mujeres músicas chilenas que, desde sus diversos estilos y subjetividades aportan, en el cotidiano, a la música tanto en lo local, como en el ámbito latinoamericano.

Revueltas nace a partir de la necesidad y ganas de juntar a mujeres creadores chilenas. Tal como señala Carla Valenti, surge de “las ganas de tener este espacio, de poder visualizar el trabajo de las mujeres de Chile, que encuentro que todas son riquísimas y que admiro mucho. Creo que cada una por separado, me ha inspirado en algún momento de mi vida”.

This mix is dedicated to the ancient old growth giants that give life to us all in a plethora of ways. It was recorded live at a Greater Groove ecstatic dance fundraiser for Last Stand West Kootenay, an organizing based out of the Kootenays that advocates for the protection of all old growth forests, the sustainable transition of the forestry industry toward value adding, community-led, small scale, selective and second-growth logging. As we continue moving forward on this path of self-destruction via unlimited consumption and extraction, the signs will become more and more clear. Floods, fires, landslides, heat waves, erratic weather, and hurricanes will continue to increase in frequency and intensity. The mass extinction will continue to accelerate, and industry will continue to place blame on various species as it attempts to divert attention away from the real culprit, humans. When will we begin to recognize the oneness that connects us all in this beautiful web of life, and act on it? I thank those who stand on the front lines, who sacrifice everything for the trees, animals, mosses, us.
