A new artistic pairing to grace the Balance Music catalogue, NILU & Philipp Straub now join forces to create 'The Gate' EP. A common sight across the clubs of his Denmark home, NILU has been a key component of the likes of Culture Box and Werkstatt while also performing on the international stage in Berlin, Tokyo, Ibiza and Tel Aviv. A 5-year production career that began with a twin-track EP on Sezer Uysal's Dark Pleasure Records has subsequently seen a raft of original music on the likes of Einmusika, Bar 25 and Bunny Tiger Dubs, the latter seeing the 'We Both Know' EP released in July 2023. 

A legendary figure in the world of underground dance music, Philipp Straub has been at the upper echelons of an ever-changing industry for three decades. A regular performer across his Austrian homeland and beyond as an internationally touring DJ, Philipp's ability to captivate audiences with a distinctive and innovative blend of music has seen him much in-demand across central Europe, the Middle East and beyond. Simultaneously, a production career has seen him feature heavily on a host of blue-chip imprints that include, Yoshitoshi, Variety Music and a quarter century of credits for John Digweed's Bedrock Records. 

'No Limit' is propelled forward via a huge, chest-thumping kick and dramatic stereo-panned effects, while light percussive claves create a subtle sonic tension of their own. Combined with a fast-paced arpeggiated sequence, NILU & Straubb have created a 7-minute tech-infused offering that offers a glimpse of melodic light at the stripped back mid-point before dropping back into the deep hypnotic groove of earlier movements in the second half.

acknowledgement to this special person with whom I lived 12 years of my life and whom I consider my hero..With you it was love at first sight, 12 years together and a beautiful little boy. Despite our separation, you always stayed by my side in the good times and in the worst times. You have always supported me despite all the mistakes I have made in recent years. So thank you for being part of my life, for being a wonderful father, a sensitive and sincere person, true to yourself. These last months and until today have been so difficult that without you I don't know what I would have become. And once again you were patient, kind and above all without any judgment. So thank you for still taking such good care of our wonderful Son and me especially at this time. Now I feel like everything is going to be okay. I also I realize that I want to be and enjoy with my family and the rest fuck off !  And of course never stop to making music. Finally true love. You will always be the man of my life.
