‘Take #3’, the opener stems from the one of a kind UK producer Matt Karmil. Excellent production that has Matt’s amazing signature raw quality sound in every corner. The track fits in every party at any hour and warms your body and soul. We welcome Matt’s debut on Sisters & Brothers. 

Modular Project strikes again after their last fantastic EP on Sisters & Brothers. ‘Bottom’ is a floating dreamy cosmic track that travels to the moon and back. It’s a funky techno track with a real bass line, emotional synths and a distorted vocoder that bring the listeners on a trippy 80’s journey. A true analog product from Italy.

‘Austrian Hairlines’ is by Sexy Lazer & Kaktus Einarsson. It comes with a thrilling intro that turns into broken beats, acid and quirky melodies. Born 33.000 feet up in the air and brought down to earth to be raised up. Grew and grew and became this sharp and tense but yet playful electric character. Robotic and sharp as the sharpest Austrian hairlines. 

Technobeton & Friedtower presents ‘Tal im Berg’. This greatly structured and disturbed track made in Stuttgart is in your face. ‘Tal im Berg’ is about not doing it right. “We had a lot of instruments, progressions and effects in the arrangement (which is the ‘Berg’ (mountain) - it sounded right. So then we killed two drum tracks, several melodies, we discovered the TAL bassline, and what then happened became Tal im Berg. When we play it loud, people maybe feel the presence of empty soundspaces and fill them automatically with ecstatic shouts and dance moves.”

Far up in the north the Icelandic techno duo Bypass wrote a composition named Blómavasi (flower vase) years back as teenagers. Not knowing what they had made the demo got lost. By request of a friend they revisited the demo and decided to bring it to life. Imagine what Bypass can do if this acid bomb is the demo that got lost... Sounding great like the cold north. 

‘I Belong’ by Andi is also coming from Iceland and closes the package with a very elegant and well made electronica track that leaves you longing for more. A true talent to watch out for! ”In the track the classic mantra “I belong to you” is repeated several times over throughout the song, treated as if it were a sample from another source than my own voice, although heavily processed. This is basically just me talking to myself, for the purpose of belonging more fully to others. The track sprang from a feeling of loneliness causing me to expand unnecessary boundaries of belonging.” This is Andi’s second appearing on S&B.

Bogota based venue Kaputt kicks starts the label side of things with seven-track compilation featuring Alejandro Paz, Nuclear Digital Transistor, Eddie Mercury & Mijo, Rodion, Kabinett, Damon Jee & Ravintsara, Alvaro Cabana & Julian Sanza.

Born from the new Bogota based club who’ve invited the likes of Call Super, Axel Boman, Kornel Kovacs and more, Kaputt launch a brand new label from the enigmatic streets of Colombia’s capital. Bogota is a place where the underground scene has recently built a new sound of resistance, a sound that sets the local scene alight through unity and community and is now moving on to break down international borders. 

First up is Alejandro Paz, a Chilean musician and DJ whose music is characterized by vocal displacement and musical selection, full of dark Latin American material. His track 'Bogotá' is a lively dark disco cut with rugged bass and angular rhythms that are finished with some acid melodies.

PREMIERE: Alejandro Paz - Bogotá [Kaputt.wav]

'Friedrich Raphael preps us for a glistening summer with the release of his second EP on Istanbul based Petra Digital/Vinyl Recordings, entitled 'Koi'. The EP features remixes from Berlin artist, Sense of Sun and Kassell based Herb Rhythm adding an extra flavour to the work of art, whilst keeping to the key theme of warm summer nights we all long for. All arranged in a tight package of digital and vinyl. 
 
Friedrich pays homage to classic deep house with his first track, 'Vitra'. The powerful kick drum drives the energy of this original mix which allows a mellow pad and slapping bass to play off one another, giving us a powerful groove to move our feet to. 'Villa' gives the dancer a harsher taste of Friedrich’s music with the percussive elements becoming more active whilst still maintaining the distinctive vibe. A touch of class from the blossoming talent, with his grip tightly gripped on a bright future. 
 
Sense of Sun takes 'Vitra' and gives it a rework in his own refreshing style. The intended feel of the track is still at the forefront but Sense Of Sun stamps it with a hint of a disco feel, with the constant shuffle of the hi-hat line and funky bass steering the track towards this road of happy feels. Herb Rhythm takes a slightly different route with his remix of 'Villa', motoring towards a garage feel with its disjointed drum arrangement, weaving in and out with its prolific chords, notably suited for one of those dancefloor moments you could not possibly forget.  
 
If you’re looking for an EP that’ll keep you moving through a glistening summer, Koi is the one for you. Keep your eyes peeled for a Beatport exclusive release on the 26th June and for the general release on the 10th July.'

Lazarusman has made a huge name for himself in the last couple of years with vocal features for Stimming, Jonas Rathmans, Joris Voorn and Huxley among others, quickly becoming one of the most recognizable voices of modern House Music with his slam poetry style. Here he is with a solo release. Are you excited? We certainly are. ‘The Signal’ is a song, or rather a musical poem about courtship in 2020. In his inimitable, contemplatative style, the young South African recounts the voice messages of a man to a woman after their first meeting. It is about infatuation, insecurity, the desire for a soul mate, shyness, wondering… and those blue ticks. The EP features “The Signal” in three versions. Lazarusman’s original presents this lyrical piece of art on a deep, yet bouncing instrumental. With crisp drumming and an emotional synth melody, it works equally well for attentive listening as well as for dancing - if they let you.
Both remixes here are by Julian Gomes. His first version amps up the energy levels with heavier kicks and quick percussions but keeps the deepness with atmospheric, syncopated chords and far-away pads. Adding layers throughout, this remix is quite a ride. Julian’s Vox Dub gets down to business in a straight, driving fashion, reducing the vocals to their very essence and letting the drum machines rock out, while still offering up a bed of floating harmonies for Lazarusman’s emotional words.

Exclusive: Iron Curtis - Everything's Alright

After a collaborative album with Johannes Albert on Frank Music, an original track on Uncanny Valley and a remix for Omar Santis on Phonica's sublabel Karakul Iron Curtis is back with some further original material on Manchester-based label Hudd Traxx. But the Berliner does not only ready one EP but two, which go by the name of Total Art Of Living Part 1 & 2. Altogether Iron Curtis provides ten tracks with his signature sound reflecting his preference for (deep) House Music. The A1 and opening track of the first part Everything's Alright contains everything, that makes the music, the genre, House Music inescapable. Various deep and partly hypnotic synths snuggle up against each other, leave space for solo piano chords and are driven by a 808 influenced bass line with few vocals-snippets, which altogether turn the tune to an in instant (dancefloor) classic. Again Iron Curtis delivers music that outlives the present but could be made at any point in modern times, yet has the gift of sounding always relevant.

Iron Curtis' Total Art Of Living - Part 1 will be released on Hudd Traxx on September 23rd.
