Mali meets India on this joyous rework from Hamza Rahimtula's 'Banjara Series Mali' compilation on his own Wind Horse Records.  Madou Kouyate is son of Malian legend Bassekou, and his mellifluous tones glide sweetly over filtered electric piano chords, funked-up bass and deft balafon motifs in Rahimtula's rework. A great track from a great compilation.

Wale Wale was a Lockdown Collaboration between Kaleta (Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade) and PVBLIC XCESS. Written and recorded remotely between London, NYC and Ibiza. Initially Kaleta wrote the vocal over another track from the Wale Wale EP (see if you can guess which one?) but with Kaleta’s performance being so strong Josh & Chloe decided to write a fresh, stripped-back instrumental from the ground up. The result is Wale Wale.

Finally getting a vinyl re-release is Frank & Tony’s seminal work with breakout duo Bob Moses. Back in 2012 Francis Harris and Anthony Collins (Frank & Tony) worked with their fellow New Yorkers before they went on to sign to Domino Records.  

The four track EP is a deep, introspective dive into Frank & Tony’s early production work with the understated melancholic vocal stylings of Bob Moses (Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallence) that would pave the way to a new sound in house music. An essential release now for the first time on vinyl, capturing a vital period in both outfits' development.
