Chris Vocoder born Christian Preissing in the city of Schkeuditz in Easter Germany before the wall was fallen. First contact of Electro was Kraftwerk's „We are the Robots“ in the 2nd grade without any clue what music it is but catched by the first time of the synthetic sound and robot voice.

After the wall was fallen moved to West Germany and became influenced by the sound of any Electronic Music. Started in the mid 90´s as a Raver and join Techno, D&B and 2Step Parties.
Dave Clarke's „Electro Boogie 2“ was the beginning to start collecting Electro Records. Fascinated and reminds to the first contact. Now the baby have name: Electro!
The wish to make music came up. And the first music hardware was bought.
Chris's Music processes social, historical, political and technical content. Electro Influenced by darkness of Techno, the flow of D&B and the soul of 2step. This was at the end of the 90´s.

After several years of producing in the bed room Chris came in touch with Supremeja and got worth tips & tricks about production and sound design. Finally they become friends and Chris found a home with german based Electro freaks Dynamik Bass System, Supremeja, Thomas MKII, TecRoc, & Thomas Kress.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

- Kraftwerk and Dave Clarke have had the biggest influence on me. Kraftwerk opened the door to a previously unknown world of music and Dave Clarke gave it a name by showing me the world of electro artists. In the early nineties electronic music was not present in any way. Thursday night I recorded Steve Mason BFBS Radio 1 on cassette and listened to it enthusiastically with friends over the weekend.

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- My second album is in the starting blocks with preceding single release plus remixes from other electro artists. A teaser video is also planned. All in all it's going to be so disturbing, I hope people out there take it with a pinch of humor.

3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- I have such a wide taste in music that it's hard to pin down a label or artist. Supremeja as a friend and a kind of mentor is certainly high on the list. Datapunk, Direkt Beat, Electrix Records, Culivates Electronics, Metroplex, Supremeja.music are fantastic electro music labels. I also recently discovered Sleaford Mods for myself. There is so much great artists and music besides the mainstream that I can't even list them all.

4. What inspires you now to create music?

- What inspires me about making music is putting my feelings & thoughts into a musical context. Telling little stories. I always try to start from scratch. I jam around with my devices, I have a melody in my head, I read an interesting book, watch an exciting documentary or watch the daily news (which I try to avoid). All this inspires me.

5. If it's not a secret, what set-up do you use when creating music?

- My DAW is Cubase. I mostly record live sequences in it and then cut them up to rearrange them.
My favorite equipment: Sequentix Cirklon, Clavia Nord Modular, Moog Subsequent 37 & Moogerfooger MF 102, Make Noise O-Coast, Tasty Chips GR-1, Korg ER-1, Elektron MonoMachine & MachineDrum, ShureSM 58.
Then there are many VST's I like to use for example: Trackspacer, Bitcrusher, Split EQ, Things Texture & Motor, Echobode, Gatekeeper, Manipulator, Amalgame, Eos & Byome .
The vocoder sounds come from Korg MS2000BR & Kaos Pad2, Nord Modular, VST-Chipspeech, Texas Instrument (Speak&Spell, Speak&Read, circuit bended Speak&Math ) Mac´s VoiceOver and Amiga 500-Say It.

Supremeja

A Project was founded and produced by Gotthard Ortner in 1994. The Producer Gotthard Ortner was born on the 22.03.1973 in Munich. He grow’s up with a endless touch of music and electronic arts. Music, Synthesizers and the 808 are a great part of Supremeja’s life. In 1985 Supremeja began to play on the turntables like Luke Skywalker’s Ghetto-Style-DJ’s in small clubs near munich. 

In 1988 Supremeja produces his own music with a Korg Drummachine, two Turntables and a Yamaha DX-7. In 1991 Supremeja opened his first tonestudio to produce Electronic Bass Music in Germany. In 1994 Supremeja started a new Level of Bass Music. He is one of the first producers who mixes the styles of Miami Bass and European Dance Music (Trance/Techno) to a new Bass-Sound. A new style is born and Bass comes back to the Dancefloor around the world. Gotthard Ortner produced many records under names like Drop Man (Techno Bass), Hydrotoxic (Bass Music), Planet 808 (Freestyle), DCT97 (Miami Bass), Control (Techno/Trance) and the successful Project Supremeja. 

2006 is the great comeback of Supremeja on the international dancefloor’s. Since then Supremeja produced Bass for Florida’s Bass Labels and also performed live shows around the world.
