Winter Mix 24

We are delighted to welcome one of our all-time favourite producers to the Supremus family, Seattle-based Doza. While you may not be familiar with his name just yet, if you’re a fan of Deep House Music you’ve most likely already heard his work. Once part of the legendary duo Lawnchair Generals, Carlos Mendoza AKA Doza is now back in the scene with a darker, deeper sound and his latest work, released last year on labels such as Doc Martin’s Sublevel Records and Get Physical has already found some strong support from the likes of M.A.N.D.Y., Lee Burridge, Pezzner and many more.
The “In Waves EP” starts off with It Comes In Waves, an epic 8.30min Deep House odyssey which takes you on a journey. With its evolving pads, subtle details and crunchy claps, this track is a work of outstanding artistry in our opinion a future classic. Moroccoy comes next: a dubbier, heavier percussion-lead workout that is designed for ultimate dance-floor damage and will please fans of recent Hunt & Gather releases. To round off the EP, we have requested the remix talents of another Get Physical regular, Houston-based Eddie Spettro and his take on the title track does not disappoint. Eddie does his thing and takes the track right to Tech-House territory to provide a darker take on the original which we know you'll enjoy playing out.
This release has summer written all over it and will be released just in time for the upcoming Miami pool parties, so grab it while it’s hot.

Doza a.k.a. Carlos Mendoza (of LawnChair Generals and Hunt & Gather) is very aware of the effect the gloomy Seattle climate has on his music. It's even a point of pride. The weather can drive the city’s music makers indoors and underground, where they cooperate on technique, equipment and events; music makers like Pezzner, Lusine, Hanssen, Raica, Mat Anderson. The camaraderie influences the music, as does the low light. If you're any fan of deep house you've likely heard Doza’s music. Carlos has been contributing to the global house music underground since 2001 as one half of LawnChair Generals, one of the most respected early 00’s house music duos in the U.S. Doza’s solo sound could be considered deeper, darker, more textured than the early works of LawnChair Generals. The first Doza remix of Hanna's "Time" on Viva Recordings in 2002, with its dubbed-out pads and hypnotic rhythms, foreshadowed his future body of work. His Get Physical debut “Ixchel”, “The Doza E.P.” on Doc Martin’s Sublevel imprint, and the sweeping "In Waves E.P." on Supremus Records exemplify Doza’s recurring theme: simple and articulate rhythms carrying strong and evolving narratives that draw the audience in. In 2015 Doza partnered with Pezzner and Michael Manahan on Hunt & Gather Records to deliver forward-thinking music to the world’s discerning dancefloors. The latest fruits of this union are Doza's disco-tech stormer "The Nautilus" followed by chord-bliss "Andy, Wally & Ray", released to enthusiastic support from international artists Âme, John Digweed, Dixon, LTJ Bukem, M.A.N.D.Y., Danny Tenaglia, Seth Troxler, and more.

Huit ans. C’est le nombre d’années qui se sont écoulées depuis le dernier album de Robag Wruhme, l’excellent Thora Vukk. 2019 marque l’année de son retour sur les devants de la scène ambient. Et toujours avec Pampa Records, le label de son ami DJ Koze. Prévu pour ce vendredi 7 juin, Venq Tolep s’est déjà illustré avec “Nate Alma”, sorti le 10 mai dernier. Un morceau conceptuel et dansant, qui promettait de belles choses pour l’album à venir...
