Exceptional Techno / Ambient / Experimental 9

The time has come to reflect on some of the standout performances from this year’s remarkable Mostra Festival. There were some program adjustments, and new stages were added compared to last year. We had more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors around and inside the Castell De Montjuï. Thursday at the Hangar provided a perfect opening, a special day for all of us who cherish ambient, experimental, and obscure music. The Pati stage at the Castell De Montjuïc was a brilliant addition and hit the mark perfectly.

But let's start from the end with the festival's closing set, the grand finale. The Mostra crew meticulously planned the lineup, giving the honor of closing this magical extended weekend to one of their residents - Timnah. Given the high caliber of talent at Mostra, ending the festival on a high note was no simple task. Yet, what we witnessed (and what you will hear in this recording) was a masterful set from a DJ who truly knows her craft.

Following an impressive performance by Rrose, Timnah took the stage with a flawlessly curated techno set. 

In this musical laboratory, Timnah was an alchemist, deftly mixing familiar elements with a slightly more energetic twist than usual. For the first 30 minutes, she kept the base simmering at a low “fire,” allowing the atmosphere to build gradually before adding multiple layers of hypnotic, high-energy elements that electrified the dancefloor. 
The result was an exhilarating and dynamic performance, making it one of the most memorable highlights of this year’s Mostra Festival.

OCCA (ARCHIV)

OCCA has been organizing ARCHIV for over 10 years at the sacred club, Precious Hall in Sapporo, located in the northernmost region of Japan, Hokkaido. With his own party ARCHIV at the core, he has been expanding his scope of activities from all over Japan to the rest of the world. As an entity of singularity, he aims to transform time/space/spirit into unknown realms by arranging multifaceted elements such as the spiritualism of Psychedelic Music, the storytelling nature of House Music, the sci-fi dystopian feel of Detroit Techno and the trance of Minimal Music in a three- dimensional way through his deft mixing.
His rare presence has been recognized and he has been invited to play at DJ NOBU's Future Terror, Mindgames' The Labyrinth/Balance, and in recent years, has been invited to parties in Asia, Spekki Webu's Mirror Zone 5 Years Tour in EU, System Revival and Georgia's prestigious Bassiani, his circle of resonance continues to spread out.

Back in 2023 we were lucky enough to release an exceptional podcast from Timnah - our ears were hooked! We immediately felt the potential and knew that she would be the DJ to provide the perfect festival afternoon soundtrack to our beloved forest.

Fast forward to Sunday afternoon at Monument Festival 2024, and Timnah’s set completely surpassed our already high expectations. From the moment she started, it was clear this was going to be something special.

Starting slow and deep, setting the stage like the opening of an epic tale, Timnah’s set unfolded layer by layer, note by note like a cinematic sonic story told deep in the forest by a master storyteller, one that could have only been by Timnah herself.

This set marked a full-circle moment, childhood friends united behind the decks for their first ever B2B set on New Year's Day. The chemistry was palpable from the fun they were having in the booth, which radiated onto the Colorfloor and had everybody locked in, warping the energy into that special night.

Utrecht's Vand delivers an elegant mix comprised entirely of unreleased work from the artist and ISOTOOP curator (including several yet-unearthed collaborations with close contemporaries & label favorites) alongside selections from his recently released Trialism EP. We’re two weeks away from Mostra 2025. Final prep is in full swing, and over here at Delayed, we’re marking the moment with a special one. A two-hour recording from ABSIS—Mostra resident, local legend, and someone who’s been quietly shaping his own corner of the scene for years.

This one’s from Gare Porto, aka the Portuguese tunnel—one of those rare venues where the setting does half the work. ABSIS played alongside Nico and André Cascais for one of the recent Extramostra nights, and what came out of it is something else. A deep, locked-in ride that doesn’t bother with the usual build-and-drop patterns. It’s not about reaching some peak moment—it’s about staying in the zone and letting things unfold naturally. This set is pure spiral techno—deep, hypnotic, and tunnel-vision tight. It moves with that kind of quiet intensity that sneaks up on you. No flash, no filler. Just steady pressure and perfectly measured pacing. Like being pulled along some underground Iberian rail line, eyes closed, body moving on instinct. ABSIS keeps full control from start to finish, guiding the whole thing with an ease that only comes from time and taste.

You can feel the room in the recording—the acoustics of the tunnel, the crowd syncing up, that low-end weight that holds everything together. It’s a full-on experience, even in playback. There’s something about this set that sticks with you. The way it just moves—no big drama, no gimmicks, just pure direction and control. It’s the kind of mix that makes you wish you were there… and also kind of convinces you that you were.

ABSIS doesn’t overstate anything. He doesn’t have to. He locks into a mood and stays there, pulling everyone in with him. And if this set from Gare Porto is any sign of what’s coming—then that closing slot at Vall d’Hebron is going to be serious.

Master of futuristic, high-fidelity electronics, Pianeti Sintetici returns for a mind-bending edition of MNMT Live, recorded earlier this year at the Opificio party at Argo16 in Venice.

“In this live I wanted to express different facets of my sound, there are stems of many new productions that will be released in the future. I tried to combine everything with the sonic aesthetics of Opificio and I think I reached a good compromise between drum n bass, IDM and techno. I hope it can evoke at least in part the emotions of that night.”

Blazej Malinowski has been featured on some of the best labels in the ambient, deep/hypnotic techno realm with past releases on The Gods Planet, Kontrafaktum, Semantica, Silent Season and many more.
Known for his hypnotic and energetic productions and live performances he keeps a productive workflow and focus on studio work and creating the right amount of energy.
Over the last few years, Blazej has toured in the US, South Africa, various places in Asia as well as performing in many of the Europe’s best clubs such as Berghain, Bassiani, Tresor, IFZ, Macadam, Fuse, Jasna1, Ankali and many more
2021 will see the launch of his new label Inner Tension – a platform where he can freely release his own productions, collaborations, and emerging artists in the scene.

Technotrippin' Podcast 102 mixed by ALNÖ (SWE).

Nordic surroundings, vibrant seasons, and strong elements influences the Stockholm (Berlin) based artist Alnö.

Captured by the underground scene of Sweden, first as techno blogger and holder of Gbgtechno, the passion for electronic music brought Alnö to start Dj-ing and moved to Berlin in 2017. Becoming a resident of the techno collective Zement, Alnö got the opportunity to form her own sound and play at underground events in Germany and Sweden.

Alnö expresses the sounds of deep, dark and hypnotic techno and her well composed, dynamic sets of evolving and driving soundscapes, powerful beats, and atmospheric rhythms, brings the listener to discover new energies and spheres of sounds.

Alnö combines her artistic side as the founder and curator of the Berlin based event series Deep x Heights, focusing on connecting upcoming and established artists together by creating a platform for them to interact, grow and explore their own unique sound.

In his set for SALON he immediately sets the tone. Dark and heavy lows intensify after which he pulls you out of the darkness and guides you into bright hypnotism.

Ever since being introduced to the ethereal atmospheric sounds of Deep Techno, Ripplefactor has been on a quest to explore the genre much in depth. Through this journey he has been able to connect with like minded people and artists who have inspired him to sculpt a narrative style which he tries to portray through his mixes. Believing that music is created as a resonance of what we perceive from around us, he is forever on the lookout for inspiration from nature, abstract architecture and mystifying art. Driven by what inspires him, he endeavours to delve into more experimentation with his upcoming projects.

Warokcast 041 : WINDAND C

One last mix to end the year. When Svreca sent me this set, he could not have known what it would mean to me. I have spent so much time looking back lately, reliving old discussions and re-imagining moments passed, often lamenting how much was lost along the way. In just under three hours this mix communicates the flow of years. An archived recording from a special memory, it reminds me that the passage of time is beautiful even in what it fades away. Listening to it, I become lost completely, as though I am everywhere at once.

Thank you to everyone who listened this year, who sent warm messages and left comments, who supported us and kept us feeling connected. Thank you to the artists who continue to give their time and trust to the podcast and label, and keep us moving forward.
