Monochrome presents, 𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖒𝖕𝖘 𝖑𝖑𝖑 : Atomic Moog, Lowless / Monument.

This spring, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Atomic Moog is a French duo formed in 2015 by two cousins Cédric André-Jean and Charles Lecca. Influenced by artists such as Plastikman, Daniel Avery, Acronym or Mike Parker and the prologue label, their productions are both cold and haunting, a perfect mix aimed at club culture and for a sophisticated audience.
Each of their productions is built around their machines, guiding them towards the creation of a sound ambiance, on which percussive and electric grooves are superposed. Adepts of improvisation, each of their live appearance is unique, yet a perfectly identifiable performance.

L'Tric's 1994 Vinyl Mixtape

When Shaun Reeves first founded Visionquest alongside Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss, the grouping of DJs were spending time in Europe's techno hub of Berlin, soaking on the influential community they found themselves immersed in while also drawing their primary influences from their home of Detroit. Since, Troxler has moved onto to focus on his many other labels but Crosson, Curtiss and Reeves have been keeping up Visionquest's strong reputation for imparting consciousness-expanding music on the world.

This year, Reeves has taken some time away from Berlin to return to the home of the States. That's not to say the musical pull of Europe is not still at the core of his DJing, as we find out in our catch up below it's talents from this side of the Atlantic that he is seeing big things for in the future. No doubt these sounds can be heard in the latest mix for the Visionquest figurehead as he shares the records that he finds himself drawing for the most in his sets, providing a perfect prelude to his next Room One session next Saturday (July 23rd).

After nearly a year since their sophomore album 'The Other', Pan-Pot return home to Second State with a stunning EP showcasing the duos proficiency for composing dynamic, cutting-edge Techno.
Over the span of three tracks, 'Solace' EP navigates through a trifecta of distinct styles that unquestionably bear the mark of Pan-Pot's masterstroke. Kicking it off at a breakneck pace is the title track 'Solace' with rapid fire low end and intense tones laying the bedrock for a wildly uplifting presentation of keys creating the ideal balance between opposing forces.
Up next is 'Consequence' which see the duo team up with Martin Eyerer for a newly styled trip down memory lane. By pairing key elements of the sounds of early Pan-Pot and contemporary production, the trio have succeeded in conceiving a fever inducing, big room hit.
Rounding out the EP is 'Lose Yourself' and it is by far the most grandiose of the trilogy. Lush pads and soaring sonic stairs build toward a zenith as the ceaseless chant of "lose yourself" escorts the traveller through an elated dream.
To top it all off, Pan-Pot personally enlisted the expertise of IMF's label boss, the mighty Marcel Fengler. With an astute awareness, Fengler weaves the original artifacts of ‘Lose Yourself' into a truly unique orchestration of rugged percussion and euphoric abstraction.
Although it's been a year since we last saw Pan-Pot on Second State, once you experience 'Solace', we think you'll agree, it's good to have the bosses back home.

Acronym (@4cr0nym) has been releasing some of the best techno, dub and ambient music in recent memory, with three albums, over a dozen EPs, and a handful of collaborations out since 2012. A Swedish artist closely affiliated with Abdullah Rashim, most of his early work came out on the Northern Electronics label, but he’s now releasing via his own imprint, Stilla Ton. He sends us this podcast in anticipation of his appearance at The Bunker at Market Hotel on Saturday, March 23 2019 where he will be performing his deeply twisting live set alongside a live set from tdel and DJ sets from Bunker NY label artist Marco Shuttle and Brooklyn electro expert Amourette. The Forgotten CXLIII: Nostromo

In her short but aspiring career, Lindsey Herbert (@lindseyherbert)  has continued to drift towards the deeper realms of techno, constantly honing her craft as a DJ and getting involved with the thriving scene in San Francisco. Fast-forward to 2018 and Lindsey has truly become a recognized name in her city and beyond, in large part thanks to her unique signature sets — true journeys that explore alternating soundscapes laced together by dark, deep and heavy textures, spatial melodies and relentless, gritty undertones. With tour dates that have brought her to international venues playing beside top name DJs, she is an artist to watch.  Lindsey’s hard work over the years has paid off, gaining her residencies with San Francisco’s Robot Ears for the past four years, as well as earning a spot on the roster of Berlin-based agency, Point Collective. She has played coveted gigs in Mexico, Detroit, and throughout Germany, as well as her recent debut in the legendary Tresor Berlin and Gate Club in Batumi, Georgia.  Lindsey's debut in the production realm was in September 2018 with a remix of Martyn Päsch's track 'Sacred' on KLVTÖ Records. Her debut solo EP was just released in May 2019 on LA-based label Ascetic Limited.

Fantastic Twins NTS show 04/06/2019

We are very glad to welcome Michel to our podcast series. There is a good chance to remedy your absence, if you are one of those who missed him in Prague in May this year, where we hosted his live debut. He was featured within the Hypnus Records showcase, that is a record label established by himself in 2013. 

Shortly after that he defined a sub-label called TOME, a medium for releasing strictly his own work, that tries to dissolve his fascination for the occult in his musical production.
