The music is a fusion of organic beats, soulful melodies, indie dance, deep house and electronica. The vibes were electric, as the crowd danced and grooved, creating a sense of unity and connection that only music can bring. <3

Witchtape #72 | Guest Wizz : sunnyboy

That morning, the little witch woke up from the pleasant sound of the singing birds in her forest.  With her eyes half-open and still feeling drowsy from a good night’s sleep, her heart suddenly skipped a beat from excitement when she realized it was the summer solstice today.  She got up from her fern bed and nimbly climbed into the tallest tree of the forest, where she arrived just in time to witness the glorious midsummer sunrise, while all the birds around her were singing their most beautiful song.  All of a sudden she got in a flying mood which was quite strange as witches only fly once a month (on the full-moon day) while that day it was new moon.  Anyway, she surrendered to her deeper instincts and flew away into the unknown, simply following her inner compass into South-Eastern direction.  After a flight of several hours, she gently touched down near a crystal-clear lake in the middle of a huge forest at the foot of a range of snow-capped mountains.  To her surprise, she was welcomed by none less than 8 other witches.  It was the largest gathering she had ever seen and she found out that the other participants were coming from all over the globe, some of them as far away as North Africa and Central Asia.  The witches had some fun comparing the great variety of different colors of their skin, hair and eyes.  The nice thing about the witches’ community is that all members are treated as equals, even the young girls of less than 150 years of age.  The elders still remember the days that they were still confined to only one corner of the world, but now they can get in touch with witches from all over the planet, and they can share their secret recipes and spells.  The witches have become much more efficient in protecting mother earth since they started getting in touch with witches from faraway places.
After a while, it dawned upon them that the little witch was the only one who was pregnant and of course the other women got curious about the father of the unborn baby witch.  When the petite girl revealed to her sisters witch that the father was a 2m40 giant wizard from the African rainforest, there was an eruption of joy among the women.  It was the very first time that witches were mixing blood with wizards from another continent and they all felt that this was the way to go… and they sensed the intermixing would make the community of witches stronger than ever, giving them even more hope they would one day be strong enough to make mother earth thrive again …

That morning, the little witch woke up from the pleasant sound of the singing birds in her forest.  With her eyes half-open and still feeling drowsy from a good night’s sleep, her heart suddenly skipped a beat from excitement when she realized the next night there would be a full moon, which meant she’ll participate in the monthly witch coven (which always happens in a different location and in the ever-changing company of two other witches).  
After finishing her morning rituals and her daily inspection round the woods, the girl said goodbye to the forest dwellers, and flew into the unknown.  She knew she would – as always - reach her destination by simply following her inner compass.  To her surprise, she was flying straight to the North … a direction she had followed never before.  After a long flight over the North Sea (which she saw for the very first time), she finally saw land in the distance.  As she came closer, she discerned a spectacular coastline with fjords and rugged mountains.  At one particular moment, her inner compass told her to turn right and fly into a majestic fjord where she flew straight to the top of a steep rock, where she was welcomed by two other women : an old witch from the land of the fjords and a middle aged witch (around 150 years old) who came all the way from the Carpathian Mountains.  The three women looked at a breathtaking sunset from their majestic vantage point high above the fjord.  Soon the night fell and the young witch was spellbound by all the twinkling stars in the sky.  She had never seen such bright stars and they seemed to be unbelievably close.  To her amazement a constellation of eight stars slowly descended towards them and soon the eight stars were right in the middle of the three witches, gently floating at eye level.  The little witch had never before felt so connected with the universe and the stars.  After a while the three witches started to float in the air and gently soared upwards accompanied by the eight stars until they were surrounded by millions of stars.  The young witch felt a strong connection with her two sisters witch and with the eight stars, and she became so energized by all this that she started to glow.  The heat in her heart became so intense that she looked down and to her amazement she saw a little pinkish light jump out of her chest, beating at the pace of her own heart.  Strangely the same thing happened with the two other witches, and their little stars had a blue and yellow glow.  The three newborn stars searched their place and settled down in their new galaxy, twinkling at exactly the same rhythm as the heartbeats of the three witches.
After that, the little witch gradually lost all sense of space and time and when she returned to planet earth in the company of her sisters witch, she was unable to tell whether this experience lasted just minutes or decades or even billions of years.  The women touched down on the same mountain top looking down over the fjord. And the little witch immediately gazed at the sky, just in time to spot a beautiful 11-star constellation (including a pinkish, a yellowish and a blueish star) slowly fading away as the night made place for yet another glorious day …

Multidisciplinary artist. Born and raised in Mexico City. Currently living in Paris. 
 
Coming from a classical music background, Suricata, works since 2012 trying to create a link between underground electronic music, classical music and orally transmitted music. 
 
He goes out to the world using ethno-musical historical archives from indigenous communities from Africa, Mexico and everyday sounds from his field recorder while playing synths, piano and other self constructed DIY instruments to search for an afro/indo/-latin electronic identity. 
 
His music and sound work explores identity and rituality, mixing cultural references and echoes of the social inequalities of Mexico city and the world. He creates cynic and satirical mirrors that challenges today’s blind search for dopamine aesthetic suicide. She invites us, as listeners, to remind ourselves to break the barriers that makes us live with fear of feeling. 
 
Jumping from more contemplative and active listening mediums 2015 "tza tzun tzat”   he designs modern rituals that involve sensory deprivation and meditation while also creating pieces for the context of rave culture, where music’s communal character and collective interdependence is more present. “2020 The only way out is in”. 
 
Currently living in Paris working with the objective of sharing and creating with a free and caring community.
